2020 Land Rover Defender Returning to U.S. Market, Ends 22 Year Drought [Video]

Information about the 2020 Land Rover Defender has been scarce, with Land Rover holding its cards close to its velvet lined vest, and the world only getting glimpses via spy photos of prototypes, as well as Land Rover’s teaser images. The luxury off-road SUV maker has changed that however, and has released some new bits of information thst should prove particularly pleasing to U.S. consumers.   The big item here is that the Defender will be returning to the U.S. marketplace, with the model last being sold here in the mid 1990s. The Defender was pulled from our shores in 1997, due to tightening safety and emissions standards, and remained a Europe only exclusive (minus grey import sales) before it was axed there for the same reasons in 2016. Land Rover also revealed that the Defender will be unveiled in 2019, but stopped far short of revealing which auto show …

Top 4 Hardcore Off-Road Debuts – Los Angeles 2017 Auto Showfloor

LA is lousy with soft-roaders this year.  There are at least a half dozen softroad compacts all the way to plush 7-seaters.  But that is not our goal here. Here we will tease out the top four serious off-road vehicles to make their debuts or appearances at LA Automobility 2017. Special shoutouts to the very-cool foot porthole in the door of the Wrangler.  The flat floor and full front trunk of the Bollinger is also pretty special. 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2018 Bollinger B1 EV-SUV 2018 Ford Expedition Baja Concept 2018 Land Rover Discovery SVX   You May Also Like:2015 Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² Debuts Hardcore Off-Road Kit, New 4.0L V8TT and LWB Options A concept only in name, the new G500 4×4² does what it says on the tin: four-by-four — squared. Land Rover Unveils All-New 2018 Discovery

Following a host of teaser videos and images, Land Rover has formally unveiled the 2017 Land Rover Discovery ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show. Once known for its squarish lines, Land Rover designers decided to take a radical approach with this new Discovery pitching the four corners theme in lieu of a more streamlined look. The front end takes much of its inspiration from the current Range Rover, and even carrys over that model’s headlight design. Meanwhile the rear styling takes inspiration from the smaller Discovery Sport, and features slick LED taillights. The end result is a look that is modern, but lacks alot of the previous generation’s retro charm (minus the carryover stepped roof design.) The aforementioned roof treatment also serves a purpose, and helps improve headroom for the third row which is slightly higher than the second row of seats. Land Rover claims that …

Range Rover Autobiography Helps Christen VIRGIN GALACTIC SS2 Unity

The revised SpaceShipTwo from Virgin Galactic made its debut this week — towed into the glamorous launch ceremony by none other than the best 4×4-by-far! The Range Rover Autobiography is a dashingly tiny vehicle versus this rocket-powered space plane.  Towing in such a gigantic aircraft is a great showcase of the Rangie’s 7700-pound max tow rating. Speeds were considerably lower here than normal highway towing…. but there is no better-looking trailer… in the universe!   Range Rover Autobiography – Virgin Galactic SS2 Unity RANGE ROVER HELPS UNVEIL NEW VIRGIN GALACTIC SPACESHIPTWO AT GLOBAL REVEAL AND NAMING CEREMONY 19/02/16   – Land Rover’s partnership with Virgin Galactic celebrated as Range Rover Autobiography tows new SpaceShipTwo at global reveal and naming event – Sir Richard Branson on board the luxury SUV as it tows1 the new spaceship – named VSS Unity, by Professor Stephen Hawking – at the Mojave Air and Space Port …

Land Rover DEFENDER CHALLENGE Race Series Wraps Epic 2015 Season, Crowns Winner!

The Land Rover Defender might be concluding series production after more than 50 years, but its loyal following around the world is still burning bright. Nowhere more so than in rainy, chilly Britain! Land Rover enlisted the rally experts at Bowler Motorsport to launch an all-Defender rally series in the UK this year, with dozens of race teams bringing their semi-pro skills up to scratch with their race-prepped Bowler Defenders. The final stage sounds like it was a thrilling conclusion to a season full of adrenaline, sweaty helmets and wet race shoes. Crashes were common but typically bruised egos more than the trucks or health of participants.  Luckily, for this race series… if you go off the snowy, muddy and rocky tracks by accident… the 4×4 Defender is no sitting duck. The 2015 Defender Challenge series is a great showcase of core Land Rover skills — with the racecars mostly …

2016 RANGE ROVER Evoque Convertible Goes Stargazing in Santa Monica

Naomie Harris is bringing some James Bond magic to the LA premiere of the new Evoque Convertible, with a gorgeous new photoset from the Cali beach and around SoCal hotspots with snapper Ben Watts behind the camera. The truck certainly looks gorgeous and right for its environs throughout!  Just don’t forget the black pack to get the sexy dark detailing shown on this first production model. Pricing is a worry. Volumes will be limited, of course, as a halo car in the Land Rover lineup, and the first soft-top Landie in the US since the Defender bowed out in the late 1990s. There is such a brisk trade in used, US-spec Defender 90 V8s, by the way, that customs has had to seize a few on the way into the country. But even so… the Evoque Convertible might be priced much too high in the USA, if direct exchange rates …

2016 RANGE ROVER Evoque Convertible – World Premiere

The key question we had about the new Evoque Cabrio is if it would channel the Defender spirit, or be a bit of a Murano CC. The production model is here in official form tonight, and you can judge for yourself. There’s no denying how hot the Evoque Convertible would be on the streets. Somehow that ultra-low roof’s disappearance dramatically ups the sexiness of the box/tub shape. Paired with giant wheels, the Evoque Coonvertible will be like a concept car for the roads. Definitely go for the available black pack!   Black Design Pack   SPECIFICS 20 inch Five Split-Spoke ‘Style 508’ with Satin Black Finish (Black Design Pack) Front Fog Lamps – Darkened Finish Headlamps and Rear Tail Lamps – Darkened Front Sump Trim Finisher – Narvik Black Rear Upper Sump Valance – Narvik Black Range Rover Lettering (bonnet and tailgate) – Narvik Black Exhaust Finishers – Dynamic Black …

2015 Range Rover Sport SVR – Track Video at Monticello + 140 New Photos

RR_Sport_SV-R_Santorini_Black_041_(109367)

UPDATED 6.15.15 Fresh video and a huge photo set of the new RRS SVR around Monticello Country Club! The truck sounds fantastic and displays very little body roll in this five-tenths track drive — which bodes very well for the sportiest Range Rover of all time. Will it be able to cut it with the deeply impressive Grand Cherokee SRT, X5M and Porsche Cayenne? What about the new GLE63 AMG — which will come in both standard SUV shape and a new X6-like GLE Coupe? That remains an open question. The 162-mph Vmax and 4.5-second official 60-mph sprint times are fantastic for a Range Rover……. but are off the pace versus the X5M and Cayenne Turbo. But feast your eyes on these details outside and in. The exterior and interior both take massive doses of F-Type R — and the result is a big leap toward actual sportiness for the …

Road Test Review – 2015 RANGE ROVER Supercharged LWB – Royal Plush on HD Video + 75 Photos

2015 Range Rover Supercharged LWB 5

2015 Range Rover Supercharged LWB Review       As we discuss in the video above, there is a grand tradition in long-wheelbase Range Rovers making the shorties obsolete. Once the first-gen Range Rover Vogue LWB was included in the US lineup for 1993, it was quickly curtains for the standard-length ‘County’ models. The big jump in length on that first-gen truck helped balance the looks nicely, with almost no downsides to the performance or price of the truck. In fact, there was only upside to be had. More rear legroom, a less pinched ingress and egress process, and an even-smoother ride as the cherry on top. 1994 Range Rover SWB vs LWB But the 2015 Range Rover is a very different proposition altogether. The standard Rangie is already pretty huge all around, with its back seat a legend among big-hatted royals and soccer moms alike. Driving the 2015 RR …
