Ram Turns the Tailgate On Its Head With All New Split Tailgate, Unveils Ram Chassis Cab Lineup [Pics]

When GM announced the multifuction tailgate for select Sierra and Silverado models, it was no secret that Ram wasn’t going to take the news lying down. It proved this by starting a brief Twitter war with its domestic rivals while also teasing its new gate at the same time. With the dust still settling from the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, Ram has unveiled its new tailgate system, and its certainly a very distinct presentaton when viewed in operation. It might not seem that obvious at first glance, with the Multipro tailgate opening and closing like normal. However, things get strange when the tailgate splits in two, with the gate splitting into two unequal pieces at the push of a button. While this might not seem like a big deal at first glance, this party trick will be a welcome solution to owners that tow trailers, with a normal tailgate being …

Road Test Review – 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 4×4 – By Carl Malek

Ram has always had a unique niche in the pickup truck wars. With Ford and Chevrolet slugging it out in both sales and marketing, Ram has embraced its role as a disrupter that always manages to shake up the marketplace with creative surprise tactics. A notable example was back in 1994 when the artist formerly known as the Dodge Ram 1500 ditched the boxy squared look of past pickups, and adopted a big-rig esque look with aerodynamically honed curves. Naturally, Ford and Chevrolet followed suit, but the Ram managed to continue this trend time and time again in other ways, including a first ever luxury trim, as well as the most powerful performance pickup ever built, with the Viper powered mutant known as the Ram SRT-10. With Chevrolet and Ford continuing to up the ante in the pickup truck wars, especially with the F-150’s all aluminium body, the 2019 Ram …

2018 RAM 2500 Limited 4×4 Long Box – Road Test Review – By Matt Barnes

When thinking of an HD pickup truck, the first things that come to mind are diesel power and a terrible ride. Only one of those two things is true with the 2018 Ram 2500 Limited Crew Cab 4×4 Long Box. Our test vehicle came with a lot of upgrades and packages, making it one of the most comfortable three-quarter ton trucks we have ever driven. Exterior This was an attractive truck from nearly any angle. It really stood out from all the other vehicles around it due to its enormous size and alluring deep indigo red paint. The Limited Tungsten package added a lot of wonderful exterior details to the truck with 20-inch satin carbon rims, halogen projector headlamps, black tail lamps, tungsten power folding trailer tow mirrors, tungsten badges, and body colored handles, running boards and tailgate badge. The large 285/60R20 tires felt undersized, but that is simply because …

Ram Unveils 575 Horsepower Rebel TRX Concept

Rebel TRX front fascia shot

Amid all the glitz and glamour that the Paris Motor Show provided this week, an unveiling at the Texas State Fair by Ram almost flew under the radar. However the brand’s Rebel TRX concept truck could signal that Ram is finally getting serious about unveiling a future Raptor fighting model. While some folks might have assumed that the RAM 1500 Rebel was the solution to this dilemma prior to its NAIAS debut last year, it turned out to be more adept at navigating backwoods trails versus being an outright sand assault vehicle. The TRX on the other hand completely flips the script, and makes its intentions boldly known. This is apparent when you look at what’s lurking underneath the hood. Like the Jeep Trailcat Concept that debuted at Jeeps annual Easter Safari event, the TRX is packing the potent 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat V8. But unlike its street oriented brand …

First Drive – 2016 RAM 1500 LIMITED EcoDiesel + VIDEO Walkaround and 70 Pics

The absolute king of the job sites? The RAM Limited pack offers unlimited access to major energy, mining and construction projects.  Simply by its bad-ass visual boldness! In black over chrome for this tester, the $3k Limited package’s bright RAM script was well worth the cash, front and rear.  The new grille is an objet d’art.  It stencil motif lives inside in a twisted, western-inspired stitching across the cabin details.             We even warmed up to the 14000-size RAM font on the tailgate.  Might prefer the Limited-spec, body-color bumpers versus the $300 return to chrome front and rear on the tester. Pricing?  Detailed on the monroney sticker below, of course.  $60,395 is the final total with the strong and smooth EcoDiesel engine + eight-speed automatic in play.    2016 RAM 1500 LIMITED Crew Cab 4×4 EcoDiesel – Exterior   2016 RAM 1500 LIMITED EcoDiesel …

Drive Review – 2016 RAM 2500 Laramie Longhorn 4×4 – By Carl Malek

A Tale Of Two Trucks – Part 2     2016 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn   Serving as our second test vehicle, the 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn takes a different approach to luxury and in the process becomes a completely different truck. Like the 3500 Limited, the Longhorn package comes equipped with an impressive resume of standard and optional equipment, and it also came equipped with the same 6.7 liter Cummins diesel engine. But unlike the black on black color scheme that defined the dually, the interior of the Longhorn embodies the spirit of the American west, and as a result features brighter colors with our tester sporting attractive Cattle Tan leather seats and grey accents. The wood trim in our tester was also a shade brighter, and it really helped add a visual exclamation point to the beautifully crafted interior. Our favorite interior feature is the wood trim on the …
