The Chevrolet Corvette has always been the ultimate example of American performance. But not too long ago, it would have been blasphemy to suggest that electrification or even hybrid technology would find its way to the Vette, with GM reps in the 1990s and 2000s scoffing at such an idea despite making the occasional concept. But at long last, after a few teases, it’s finally happening with the unveiling of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, which brings AWD, electrification, and a pinch of flair to the sports car segment. E-Ray Is More Than Just Electrification Chevrolet has big plans …
We have always wondered what it would look like if Chevrolet decided to go hunting for Ferraris with the 2023 Corvette ZO6, and thanks to a newly released photo of the 2023 Corvette ZO6, we have a look at the sharper and more ferocious member of the C8 Corvette family ahead of its October 23rd debut. Core Vette Design Gets Beefed Up With ZO6 Add-Ons When you compare the standard-issue Corvette with the new ZO6, you’ll see that GM’s changes to the car are not as extensive as some might have expected. The core design is still present and …
When Zora Duntov first thought of the idea for a radical mid-engine Corvette on 1959, the car purely existed in concept form (CERV 1,) with the idea being way ahead of what the 1950s could offer in terms of technology. Despite this, the core conscience of this idea never went away, with the 1960s 70, 80s and even the 1990s all featuring a mid-engine equipped Vette concept in some shape or form (including CERV II and CERV III) But like before, the idea was too revolutionary for its time, and as the 1990’s came and went, economic feasibility became more …
After numerous spy shots, months of rampant speculation, as well as a poorly timed leak, Chevrolet has officially unveiled the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 choosing to formally unveil the car at the Dubai Motor Show versus the highly anticipated NAIAS unveiling that was rumored for so long. Looking beyond the unusual location for its debut (Chevrolet said it was a nod to the growing Middle East market, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 brings newfound muscle, technology, and refinement to the supercar segment. While this iteration of the ZR1 does share alot of its underlying construction with the Z06, Chevrolet engineers …
One more Geiger special for good luck! The Corvette Stingray by Geiger Cars is fairly shocking in its overhaul — with custom carbon-fiber exterior mods, special paint, wheels and aero kit complementing the supercharged engine’s 590-horsepower. The gloss-black nose and tail are some of the most interesting mods for the dramatic visual effect they bring — especially up front. The look of the C7 is completely transformed with a dark nose and the huge front splitter Geiger has developed. We love the look and the carbon-fiber aero pieces. They take this Stingray up to Z06 levels of aggression, if not …
The power of the model-year in full effect with this 1953 Corvette, which is ballparked at $350,000 when it goes up for auction in March. This is triple the estimate of the identical 1954 model. But the 1954 is far less exclusive. The first year of Corvette production was actually fraught with peril and assembly issues. The never-before-used fiberglass bodywork proved extremely challenging to produce accurately, let alone assemble. A new setup wherein the complete bodywork was lowered onto the frame helped make 1954 a massive production year. They are both special, but obviously the collector value of the …
The Corvette Moray is a slippery one — in many senses of the word! Named after the shimmery Moray eel and styled to glide through this world without disturbing the air, the Moray Corvette from ItalDesign in 2003 is interesting for a few reasons. First off, though, let’s discuss what it is under these sleek new panels and triple glass bubble canopy. It is a C5 underneath — so the guys had their work cut out for them in making it special and respected at Pebble Beach and in Geneva. It is a full reskin from tip to tail, …
If there is one supercar we have covered more than the Z06 this year, we’d be very surprised. The Corvette Stingray is simply so amazing that an upgraded version that is faster, cooler and louder seems like the perfect Ferrari and Porsche-killer. There is not one Gallardo owner who would be disappointed with the Z06’s performance and sex appeal. The latest 30 photos from Chevy show a truly amazing palette of colors to choose from in some nice action shots on the ractrack. No real insights from these photos — aside from the first look at a Z06 without the …
These exclusive Car-Revs-Daily.com photos of the Corvette Z06 in Amelia Island in March are still some of the best out there. But Gene Leeds from Leeds.io and CorvetteForum.com certainly has my skills beat when it comes to detail shots from the NY auto show. Leeds captures not only the production Z06 hardtop and convertible in stunning, high-res detail — he also has a look all around the display car’s chassis, suspension and inner workings. A huge thankyou to Gene Leeds for his permission to use these photos. More updates on his new website as it becomes available. Back to 2015 …
Update — Originally published in November, when I foolishly included over 350MB of images on one web page. That leads to a lousy user experience, shockingly! With slow pages, browser crashes and other issues. We are learning, however, and improving. The compressed images do not lose too too much quality when shrunk from 5MB each down to 1MB each — but you will like them better because it will not crash the entire Internet. =] The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 3LT is poised to be the absolute hottest sports car for 2014: pricing just below $70,000, carbon-fiber galore, and even …
Ever since the debut of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban in September 2013, General Motors seems to — finally — be a far more forward-thinking company. The irony was not lost on anyone during the 1980s and 1990s: the largest and most successful industrial entity of the 20th Century, and perhaps all of American history, was rapidly in decline and risking it all via short-sighted management strategies that equaled awful cars. Part of looking forward is knowing where you came from, of course. Good (but often not-so-good) skeletons of cars in the closet would no longer be swept under the …
The Z06 has only been shown in public four times since its Detroit show debut in January. It attended the auto shows of Chicago, Geneva, KC and Dallas — but otherwise has been trapped in captivity when in public. Do you remember how cooped-up KingKong felt upon arrival from overseas? The Z06 looked similarly ready to explode off this show stand. It is ready to squash Porsche 911 GT3s and perhaps even a few Italian exotics as well. Great to see this rule-breaker has escaped the convention center fluorescent bulbs ahead of its first deliveries later of this year. The …

The 2014 Stingray is an incredible sports car with the interactive handling and playful engine harmonics of the best supercars. This is coming from an import-driving, turbo-loving guy who has never even liked the Corvette before this year, let alone wanted to own one. The Stingray just proves it case on the roads. It drives so well, is so fast, and also versatile with a removable targa panel that fits inside that big trunk. The all-new cockpit with has premium tech and materials. (Seriously!) So, if the Corvette Stingray is so good: what about its old-man designs for the …
