The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is still only a few days away from making its debut but the company is doubling down its bet on SUVs with other models. One of them is the newly renamed bZ. The bZ got a simpler name for its recent round of updates but it appears that Toyota had an ace up its sleeve with its latest unveiling the all-new bZ Woodland.
Woodland model hits the backwoods
The bZ is not the first Toyota model to get a Woodland model with the Sienna minivan getting the trim prior. This time around, the bZ Woodland is being treated like a separate model from the main bZ lineup. The Woodland shares the bulk of its inspiration with the Subaru TrailSeeker with the model getting blacked-out wheel arches and cladding in place of the body color-matching accents on the standard model.
The 18-inch alloy wheels have removable covers and buyers can also get optional all-terrain tires. The suspension gets a slight 0.1-inch lift to raise the ground clearance to 8.3 inches. The rear end also gets reworked and the roof rack adds a rugged edge to the Woodland. As mentioned before, the Woodland gets its core DNA from the TrailSeeker, and the connections to this model are also evident in the design of the taillights. The interior is largely carried over from the standard bZ with an optional Premium package giving buyers goodies like a digital rear mirror, a JBL premium sound system, a fixed glass roof panel, and other luxury goodies.
Performance for the Woodland is one size fits all with all models getting a dual-motor EV powertrain that produces a combined system output of 375 hp. No performance figures were released but look for the Woodland to be on par with the TrailSeeker’s 4.4-second sprint time. The setup also gives the Woodland standard all-wheel drive for any backwoods adventure. Like other bZ variants, the Woodland includes an NACS port, allowing access to Tesla Superchargers. DC charging from 10 to 80 percent takes about 30 minutes.
When can I buy one?
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but is expected to exceed the outgoing 2025 bZ4X XLE AWD, which starts at $40,545 including destination charges. Look for that information to emerge soon but Toyota did reveal the model will also be sold in Europe and Japan where it will retain the old bZ4X moniker.
