2024 Polestar 2 Gets Significant Updates And Minor Bump Up In Price

The 2024 Polestar 2 is getting some major updates for 2024, with the model getting more power and range, all for a relatively small boost in the asking price, which Polestar thinks is a good deal for buyers as the company prepares to expand its EV presence.

Polestar 2 Gets More Power And Range, What’s Not To Love?

A major update that the Polestar 2 is receiving for 2024 is that it will get more power and range from its electrified hardware. The base model gets newly instituted rear-wheel drive and a new rear-mounted electric motor that makes 299 horsepower which is a noticeable jump up from the 230 horsepower that you got in the 2023 model. This new setup allows the Polestar 2 to make the sprint to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, with the model also capable of achieving 270 to 320 miles of range, depending on how it’s equipped. Oh, and as a bonus, it’s even capable of supporting 205-kilowatt fast charging. Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive model also gets its own share of updates, with the dual-motor powertrain now producing 421 hp, with that figure going up to 455 hp when the car is equipped with the optional performance pack. The sprint to 60 mph is now completed in 4,3 seconds, and Polestar claims that this variant can get 276 miles of range, but the EPA still has to confirm that in their testing.

Polestar also didn’t release official pricing for the Performance Pacl yet but did confirm that it slashed the price of the Plus Pack from $2,400 to $2,200. This particular pack adds a heat pump, heated rear seats, a large glass sunroof, and a Harmon Kardon sound system.

How Much Is It?

Pricing for the 2024 Polestar 2 will begin at $51,300 for the base rear-wheel drive model, with the more powerful dual-motor model starting at $53,200. The Polestar 2 is currently in production now, but the 2024 model is slated to enter the factory rotation very soon, with sales expected to begin in August of 2023.
