Mercedes has a half-dozen all-new models revealed so far for 2016 and 2017. The GLE, GLE Coupe, GLS, GLC for the SUV family are all fresh or all-new.
SLC, SL, S-Class Cabrio, E-Class and many more. So they are forgiven for meting out the excitement in auto show season. The Deeetroit show for MB focuses on the SLC and S63 ragtop.
But there is MUCH excitement in terms of new models revealed online, but as-yet unseen or driven.
The new C-Class Coupe is near the top of the list! This fresh set of 61 new photos of the C-Class Coupe from MB UK is a fantastic glimpse of what we have in store for Chicago next month or perhaps NYC later in the Springtime.
The fact that this mid-range model looks so good — so inherently right in its proportions — is a great sign. After all, anyone could make the new C63-S desirable. But a C300 AMG Line (new cut-rate AMG offering) or C220 AMG Sport (previous trim-level sport select)? A bit harder to really vamp, usually.
Not in this case. Very posh indeed for its expected $45k USA base price in C300 Coupe guide.
The all-new body, engines and cabins speak clearly for themselves!
This slinky two-door is set for a ~May 2016 first delivery to US Merc dealers. The US lineup is C300 and C400 4Matic — with this swish white satin paintwork an option along with the AMG bodywork, which may come standard but remains TBA.
2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe – AMG Line
It is an exciting time to be a two-door in the Mercedes range. After years of CLK and CL doldrums, the new S-Class Coupe now has an equally stylish kid brother. The new C300 and C300 4Matic are just the start for this C-Class Coupe: a C450 AMG and C63 AMG are also virtually guaranteed shortly after the main models roll out next Spring. A cabrio variant is also en route for 2018.
The design is actually remarkably appealing, considering it is almost a direct mashup of the new C-Class and the S-Class Coupe. The proportions really work — even if they feel much more luxury-oriented than the 4 series and its sporty aspirations.
