Aston Martin Unveils All New 2026 DBX S Flagship

Aston Martin is ready to help SUV customers get more of the delightful SUV cake that they love in the DBX. While the slow-selling “base” model went away a short while back, the DBX707 has been the ala carte option for buyers browsing through Aston showrooms. This role has left the DBX without a proper flagship trim for buyers who want the best the DBX can offer.

Aston Martin is now out to change that with the all-new DBX S which brings more of everything to Aston buyers as the company continues its attempt to boost sales and navigate its move into an electrified future.

DBX S brings more power and luxury

The “S” moniker has been used sporadically at Aston for years with the letter being used on the Vantage, Vanquish, and others. However, this will be the first time it will be used on the DBX and also the first time it will be appearing on an SUV. The rest of the changes are minor and are strategically splashed throughout the SUV. The front fascia gets a larger front splitter and the rear of the DBX S gets new stacked exhaust pipes which are part of a broader attempt to clean up the rear design. In contrast, the interior is largely carried over but Aston says buyers will be able to choose from new trim options, and “S” badging will also be added to select portions of the interior. We’re fine with this light touch since the interior was already pretty luxurious despite some of the wrinkles seen in its infotainment system.

Power continues to come from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 but Aston engineers added some tech from the Valhalla to the DBX S with power going up from 697 hp to 717 hp. The power bump does not come with drastically altered performance with the SUV continuing to make the sprint to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds and hitting a top speed of 193 mph. The lone change is how quickly it makes the sprint to 124 mph with the S doing it a few tenths of a second quicker than the 707.

The nine-speed automatic benefits from revising software which allows the gearbox to deliver crisper shifts and better response with the steering also getting an improved ratio for tighter turns. Weight reduction also plays a prominent role in the S’s transformation with the 23-inch magnesium wheels and carbon fiber roof helping to slice some flab from the DBX’s flanks. The front grille is also lighter but while it’s derived from the one seen in the DBS 770 Ultimate, its role is to improve the center of gravity since it sits far out towards the front. However, a prominent catch here is that the aforementioned weight-saving features are not standard with buyers having to put them all on separately as optional extras.

When can I buy one?

Aston Martin didn’t reveal any pricing for the 2026 DBX S but with the DBX707 already starting at over $260,000 look for some of the enhancements on display here to push the DBX S higher than that with fully optioned examples easily crossing over the $300,000 barrier. The S is expected to go on sale later this year with the first deliveries taking place in Fall.
