There are obviously a few routes a brand cane take with their Vision Gran Turismo prototype racers, and this makes sense. When you play GT6 (or any GT) the cars are classified by power to weight ratio, drivetrain layouts, and myriad other classifications.
So it is not as if all these VGT cars just end up on a track together.
With that in mind, the new Lexus LF-LC GT falls into a much more practical category that hyper-futuristic ideas like the Chevrolet Chaparral or the most recent Renault Alpine.
This LF-LC GT is a down-to-earth look that is very, very similar to the current and upcoming fields of Super GT Lexus racecars based on the RC GT3.
WHat this car and the continued presence of the LF-LC name does indicate? An appetite within Lexus for a range-topping performance coupe. Perhaps based on the hardcore new Toyota Supra FT-1? Time will tell. But the mood is definitely right. $150,000 pricing, tiny 2+2 back seat, and performance to dust even the legendary LFA hypercar. Perhaps with hybrid AWD? Watch this space.
While no engine data or specs are offered with this first-look at the LF-LC GT, it does have racing tech galore. Bold design and a ground-effects body-kit to suck the car to track surfaces, the LF-LC GT might not be outrageous, but it is sure to be extremely rapid.

On January 30th, Lexus announced the LEXUS LF-LC GT “Vision Gran Turismo”. This car is planned for distribution in a free update for the PlayStation®3 exclusive title Gran Turismo 6 due to be released in spring 2015.
In the memorable race season of 2014, Lexus entered the new RC F GT500 in the Super GT GT500 Class and fought for the series title up until the very last race.
