2019 RAM HD Lineup Boasts 1,000 lb ft of Torque Among Suite Of Updates

Ahead of its highly anticipated debut at the 2019 North American International Auto Show tomorrow, Ram has released images and information regarding the 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD lineup, and after having a chance to look over some of the specs that Ram has posted in its press release. It’s clear that Ram engineers are truly going for broke when it comes to outdoing their domestic rivals in sheer capability, technology, and refinement. Before we get into some of the other aspects that define the 2019 lineup, lets take a moment to look at arguably the most defining thing about the 2019 Ram HD, the torque figure. Wheras GM and Ford wield engines that still boast torque figures in the mid 800 to 900 lb-ft range, Ram has decided to blow both of its foes out of the water by offering 1,000 lb-ft of torque (being the first mass …

Lexus Raises Ante On LC Luxury With All New LC Convertible Concept

It’s no secret that Lexus has been wanting a large convertible since the demise of the SC convertible. The last production car to boast a standard tape cassette player brought open top luxury in a comfortable and roomy package that has been missed by some Lexus owners since it was axed. The LC coupe made a splash three years ago when it debuted at the North American International Auto Show, but its sleek and futuristic design seemed incomplete without a drop top conversion. Lexus has answered this calling by formally unveiling the LC convertible Concept ahead of its debut next week at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. Lexus claims that the LC convertible is just a concept at the moment (we’ll see about that,) but it certainly looks production ready to casual observers, and it would help bring some vigor to LC sales, which tallied in at just …

Acura Shapes Its Future With Stylish 2019 RDX Prototype

Like the recent spike of crypto-currency markets, the crossover segment has exploded in popularity with many of these entries forcing automakers to drastically rethink their offerings to help achieve maximum sales. Acura’s RDX crossover has emerged to be a leading force in this segment since it was introduced back in 2012 as a 2013 model. However, this beloved model is starting to show its age, and the 2019 model aims to not only breathe new life into the RDX, but also the very brand it represents. This is most evident in its exterior styling which continues to showcase Acura’s “Precision Crafted Performance” design language. This language has worked its magic on other Acura models, but Acura claims that the RDX will bring some new touches to this venerable design language. The front fascia features Acura’s Jewel Eye LED headlights, and the lower front air intakes even borrow some styling cues …

Ford Brings More Power, Style, To NAIAS With 2019 Bullit Mustang [Video]

Prior to its unveiling, the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullit had to be one of the worst kept secrets of the 2018 North American International Auto Show. Rumors of its existence wafted throughout the outer reaches of the internet, and it was even spotted out on a photo shoot prior to its big debut in Detroit, but the wait was certainly worth it, with this iteration of Bullit perhaps being the most potent, and distinctively retro looking Mustang offering ever built by Ford. The exterior styling of the Bullit is largely based on the 2018 Ford Mustang with much of that car’s traits present and accounted for here. However, the Bullit also follows the script laid out by other Bullit editions, and emerges on the scene wearing the same familiar shade of green paint (Shadow Black is available as an option) and lacks much of the chrome trim that is sometimes …

Infiniti Teases Flagship Sedan Ahead of NAIAS

Infiniti has bold ambitions for its upcoming flagship, and a new teaser image that the Japanese luxury automaker just released gives us another glimpse at its NAIAS bound concept car. The new image (like before) doesn’t reveal much, but it does appear to hint that curvier styling is on the menu, with a narrower headlight design, as well as a crevice along the hood that flows into the fender. The front grille also has aggressive undertones, and has a sawtooth-esque design. This new flowing theme will be a radical departure from the angular motif that has defined Infiniti models for the past few years which sounds great to us. “The new Infiniti concept car will take the traditional sedan architecture to its next stage of evolution” revealed Infiniti’s Executive Design Director Karim Habib. “A shift towards smarter, more compact, and less intrusive powertrains; we were able to create an alternative …

Chevrolet is celebrating the 100th birthday of its pickup truck division, and the storied brand chose to showcase whats in store for the next 100 years with the unveiling of the trail ready 2019 Silverado Trailboss The exterior styling is admitably a love it or hate it affair, with Chevrolet claiming that its new rig embodies “strong modern styling.” This new motif is most noticable in the front fascia which features an intergrated front grille and all new LED headlights. The Trailboss trim (shown here in LT guise) does away with much of the chrome trim, and replaces it with black accent trim elements. The side profile is more sculpted than before, and transistions to a reworked rear end with Colorado-esque tailights as well as an all new rear diffuser and intergrated exhaust tips.   Unlike its rivals at Ford and possibly Ram, GM will continue to use high strength …

Volkswagen Teases 2019 Jetta Ahead of NAIAS

When we last met the Volkswagen Jetta, it was a sedan in desperate need of newfound vigor and passion. The current generation was Volkswagen’s attempt to better compete with U.S. and Japanese entries, but its bland styling and downgraded interior materials caused it to get a lukewarm reception from customers, especially in North America. With the sedan segment as a whole still reeling from strong CUV sales, the 2019 Jetta aims to regain its lost luster, while also doubling down on its quest to redefine the four door sedan segment at the same time. The teaser sketches Volkswagen released don’t reveal much, but they do show that the front fascia is in for a major overhaul, with a bolder front grille as well as new headlight assemblies headlining its bolder persona. We expect this new stying theme to really pop on the performance oriented GLI, assuming it carries over to …
