Jeep Offers First Glimpse Of Wagoneer S BEV, Screens To Take Center Stage In This EV

It has been a while since we heard anything new about the Jeep Grand Wagoneer S. The sleek Wagoneer S is poised to make history with the model not only being the first Wagoneer to go all-electric, but also one of the first Jeep models to embrace Stellatnis’s new EV architecture.

New Sketches Show New Details On Wagoneer S

When we last saw the Wagoneer S, it was in the form of sketches and we hope you like this particular art form because Jeep released, (you guessed it) more sketches of the exterior. However, these have more detail now and reveal that the S will have a chiseled front end with the iconic Jeep grille front and center. The body itself is very reminiscent of the smaller Grand Cherokee and is a noticeable departure from the blocky penthouse-like look that defines the ICE-powered Wagoneer.

Things get interesting when we look at some of the photos Jeep released of the interior. Unlike the exterior, these images appear to be legit teaser photos and show a cabin where screens will play a prominent role. One of the images shows that the Wagoneer S will have four such screens with three of them being mounted in the instrument cluster, the centrally mounted infotainment screen, and a smaller screen in the passenger dashboard. A new fourth screen is also present and it appears that one will be relegated to operating the climate control system. The control layout also appears to be a mostly touch-sensitive affair with many of the analog controls being pitched for the sake of simplicity.

Fastest SUV In The World?

If Jeep’s boasts about some of its initial performance targets are to be believed, the Wagoneer S is shaping up to be a very quick entry with performance coming from a 600-horsepower electric drive system which supposedly allows the S to make the sprint to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds which would make the EV one of the fastest SUVs in the market when it enters production.

All-wheel drive is slated to be standard and while Jeep is wisely keeping some of the more crucial details to itself, it’s known that the wait for the Wagoneer S will not be very long, with the model still slated to go on sale this fall with more details potentially being released over the next few months.
