2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Goes In Boxier Direction, Adds More Equipment and Capability

The Hyundai Santa Fe was always proud of its futuristic lines, with the curvy look helping the SUV be one of the more distinctive entries in the crowded SUV swimming pool. However, Hyundai knows that once in a while, it needs to do something radical to help project its place in the segment. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe aims to do just that by not only embracing a new styling language but also with more capability and tech too.

Boxier Santa Fe Styling Exudes Old-School Charm

A prominent change for 2024 is a new styling direction for the Santa Fe. The curves and flowing lines have been pitched, and in their place is a new motif that’s boxier than before and has a front end that comes with new headlights with an H-shaped look. A set of 21-inch alloy wheels are also part of the deal and nicely fills the square-shaped wheel arches. The rear gets a massive tailgate and new taillights that are mounted much lower than the outgoing model. The look is more rugged than before, and in our eyes, we see some sly references to old-school SUVs like the Isuzu Trooper, older versions of the Toyota Land Cruiser, and the Defender 130.

The interior of the 2024 Santa Fe has also undergone its own share of revisions, with the model being the latest Hyundai offering to feature a curved dual-screen setup, while the company also added a mixture of analog and haptic feedback touch controls to help operate various cabin features. Space was also a premium for Hyundai designers, with the cabin’s width allowing them to add a massive center console that has two side-by-side mounted cupholders and dual wireless charging pads for mobile devices. The dashboard and the steering wheel have also been reworked, but unfortunately, we didn’t get a view of the rear seats this time, but perhaps Hyundai will give us a glimpse in a future set of teaser images. Sustainability will also play a prominent role in the cabin’s construction, with the floormats, headliner, and the backrests of the second and thrid row seats all being made out of the material.

We also didn’t get a word on what kind of performance hardware is lurking under the Santa Fe either but expect familiar engines versus anything too radical.

When Can I Buy One?

Hyundai confirmed that the 2024 Santa Fe will be making its debut next month on Youtube, with more information being revealed after that happens. We hope some of this new information will include final information on engines and fuel economy as well as a preliminary timeline on availability.
