Lucid Embraces Its Dark Side With All-New Stealth Package, Will Debut At Monterey

The recent trend of adding blacked out special editions to all sorts of models have certainly not been overlooked with a wide plethora of automakers adding the sinister treatment to models big and small. The folks at Lucid Motors have taken notice, and have revealed an all-new Stealth Package for the Air sedan which aims to transform this sleek EV sedan into a elegantly sinister four door.

Blacking Out The Bright Bits

Like other stealth packages we have seen over the past few years, this one largely follows the same core script when it comes to upgrades with Lucid stylists replacing the brighter pieces of the Air’s suit with darkened out accents. Available on the Touring, Grand Touring, and Grand Touring Performance Lucid claims that the package affects 35 different trim pieces on the car with these silver hued pieces being switched out for three different versions of dark grey with Lucid dubbing them “Satin Graphite,” “Black Gloss,” and “Stealth Polished.”

Some of these swaps will require a careful eye to catch, but the more obvious ones take place on the mirrors, the light surrounds, as well as the “nose blade” trim up front. The wheels are also exclusive to the package and buyers can choose from either blacked out 21-inch “Aero Sport Stealth Wheels” or smaller 20-inch ‘Aero Lite” Stealth hoops.  Lucid claims that the Air was always designed to be a split personality when it comes to configuration with this stealthy looking package embracing the sporty side of life while the standard car’s brighter trim is for traditional luxury buyers.

Crossing The Catwalk In Monterey

The Stealth Package will be making its debut during Monterey car week with this package being a $6,000 add-on in addition to whatever model it’s equipped to. Lucid also revealed that this package will be available for customer order in 2023. However, that timeline is subject to change especially with Lucid currently going through challenges in getting Air production started due to supply issues.

These issues forced the company to slash its production targets twice this year and it will be interesting to see if some of these lingering issues could potentially force the company to delay plans into the 2023 model year. We’ll certainly keep our eyes on that situation especially since the Air is arguably one of the most hotly anticipated EV models in recent memory and we’re looking forward for our chance to experience it for ourselves.
