2025 Toyota Crown Signia Adds Depth To Crown Family, WIll Go On Sale This Summer

The Toyota Crown lineup is growing for 2025 with the company confirming that the all-new 2025 Toyota Crown Signia will be joining the funky sedan in dealer showrooms as the firm adds depth (and hopefully sales) to the Crown nameplate.

Crown Signia Is The One We All Saw Coming

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia could be considered one of the worst-kept automotive secrets in recent years, with the model being previewed in full at an event the company threw in Japan. At the time, it was known as the Crown Estate, but that portion of its name was chopped before it made the trek to our shores and the company now calls it the Crown Signia. We’re not sure where the Signia name came from (it doesn’t even appear in the exterior badging) but the exterior styling is bold and futuristic for the most part with the slender LED headlights flanking a large front grille. The side profile has a sporty look to it and it makes up for the rather plain-looking rear end (we’ve seen bagels with more personality than the Signia’s rear fascia.)

But slip inside the Crown Signia and you’ll find an interior that’s clean and comfortable with bronze-colored trim being used in select spots. The appointments will depend on trim level with the Signia only being offered in XLE and Limited trims. The XLE gets fabric and SofTex-appointed seats while the Limited gets double-stitched leather seats. Those minor differences aside, buyers will find plenty to love here in the Crown Signia. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard while a matching 12.3-inch infotainment system also comes along for the ride. USB-C charging ports are scattered throughout the cabin while eight-way power adjustable seats promote maximum amounts of comfort.  The center console also features a large vertically mounted wireless phone charging pad (a trend that we have seen emerge in the past few years) while a six-speaker audio system serves as the default sound system in the XLE with the Limited model getting a beefier 11-speaker JBL Premium audio system.

Hybrid Performance Still Defines Crown Signia Driving Experience

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia replaces the Venza in the lineup and like that model, hybrid performance will reign supreme here with all models being powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that’s equipped with Toyota’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle system. In the case of the Crown, the setup gets two electric motors that help the Crown Signia produce a combined system output of 243 hp. It also gets standard all-wheel drive as a result, and Toyota says it can tow up to 2,700 lbs. Like other Toyota-equipped hybrids, a CVT is the sole transmission available.

Trim level also plays a role in what wheels you get with the XLE getting 19-inch hoops while the range-topping Limited model gets bigger 21-inch wheels. Like the 2025 Camry, the Crown Signia gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 which bundles in features such as pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, road sign recognition software, and other driver-assist features. The Limited gets an Advanced tech package that adds lane change assist and a panoramic view monitor.

When Can I Buy One?

Toyota revealed that the 2025 Crown Signia will begin making its way to dealerships this summer but like the 2025 Camry, Toyota didn’t reveal full pricing information for the Crown Signia. When Toyota eventually releases those details and the SUV makes its way to dealerships, the Crown Signia will be the 19th electrified Toyota model on sale in the U.S. which is also part of a broader plan by Toyota to boost green vehicle sales by offering hybrid, plug-in hybrid and BEV models across its vehicle range.
