Latest Acura Integra Teaser Image Confirms Six-Speed Manual Transmission

The Acura Integra is coming back, and Acura is pretty keen on achieving the same lightning in a bottle effect that it accomplished with older Integra’s especially those that appeared during the early 2000s. However, one lone question we had was whether the car would get the key ingredient that made it all work (a manual transmission.) Acura has released a new teaser video that not only serves as a nice trip down memory lane, but also confirms that the latest chapter in the Integra story will include a six-speed manual.

Shifting Yourself Has Never Been So Much Fun

Acura’s teaser video didn’t get into other Integra-related details this time around, but this six-speed would be the second six-speed manual that has ever been offered on the car (all other Integras featured a five-speed manual.) The shifter itself appears to have some commonality with the six-speed in the Honda Civic but that’s not a bad thing with the Civic and the Integra always having a very high degree of commonality when it comes to platform and the core mechanics.

It will also be interesting to see which engine will ultimately be paired with the Integra’s transmission. While it would be nice to see it paired with the 2.0 liter, we would not be surprised if the first batch of Integra models are paired with the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with the beefier 2.0 liter being reserved for perhaps a Type S model later in production. Acura will also not want the Integra to step on the toes of the recently launched Acura TLX

When Will We See The Revived 2023 Acura Integra?

Acura has not formally revealed when it will be unveiling the latest Integra, but with the current pace of the brand’s teaser campaign look for it to possibly appear sometime next year. We look forward to learning more about the Integra then including final fuel economy numbers as well as just how much performance lurks under the hood.
