Acura Confirms 2024 Integra Type S, Luxury And Polish Hides Type R Underpinnings

Persistent rumors have pointed to the possibility of Acura making a Type S version of the Integra. Acura preferred to stay silent on the matter but also chose to neither confirm nor deny the rumors. The standard Integra is already a sporty offering, but if this latest round of teaser images is to be believed, the 2024 Integra Type S is shaping up to be a potent offering for Acura when it arrives this summer.

More Power And Style For Acura’s Smallest Model

The car featured has extensive amounts of camouflage, but the black and white wrap can’t hide the fact that this Integra has a meaner personality, with the exterior styling looking sharper and more aggressive looking than before. The front end has bigger lower air intakes, and the hood appears to be hiding a small power bulge too. The fenders also house massive sticky tires, with the rear of the Integra trading in the Civic Type R’s massive rear spoiler for a smaller lip spoiler.

Acura appears to have also confirmed that the Type S will essentially be a remixed version of the Type R, with the brand confirming that the model would be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder good for “over 300 hp” which is also a talking point that we heard before with the fore-mentioned Type R. A six-speed manual being the exclusive transmission is also a Type R trademark and another indicator of its Civic derived hardware. The exhaust system will also pitch the Type R’s different-sized triple pipe arrangement for a setup with same-sized pipes.

When Can I Buy One?

Acura revealed that the 2024 Integra Type S will go on sale in the summer of 2023, with a potential debut possibly taking place this spring. With the Integra Type S still under development, look for more teaser images to make their way to the public over the next few months, especially if we get to hear what the exhaust note sounds like.
