The tail is perhaps the most interesting element, with a unique flush-fit three-pack of brake lights in each corner. A sharp fender peak is one throwback styling element that has not yet been seen on a modern iteration of the car.
By contracting the car with Giugiaro, Ford used a bit of failsafe strategic vision testing. Would the Giugiaro car be far better than anything Ford could do in-house?
As this car shows, the answer is no. Ford was on the right track, and relatively close to the Giugiaro ideas — once the unfeasible glass roof and other concept decorations are removed.
