4x4xFerrari! FF = Four-Season, Monday-Sunday V12 Supercar — 3.6s to 60MPH via 652HP, 16-cubic-feet in Big Trunk, AWD and … Sexy Subtlety?

The Ferrari FF launched to excited prose from auto writers worldwide. If I may speak on their behalf briefly: this was the dream FerrariFour we would actually want to use Monday-Sunday.

Not just a track-day plaything, or a Saturday night showpiece: the FF is a car you can not only imagine owning — but owning as your only vehicle.

There simply has not been a more flexible Ferrari GT car in decades — since the Daytona, some might say. The available seats inserts certainly confirm Daytona dreaming.

Even while the 458 and F12 become even more savage and focused, the FF allows a wonderful counterpoint. A twin mission that is — and this is always important to Ferrari — not an SUV or a four-door model.

Even more critical for Ferrari owners (who would likely devour an SUV with crushing demand)? Beauty. The FF is beautiful. It is artful and graceful, but also relaxed and truly subtle when running around with two-doors of any kind.

The integration of Apple CarPlay is a step in the right direction to keeping the FF the most friendly and tech-synergized as possible. The FF is the first car to debut CarPlay worldwide, which is basically a content manager and live web link to any Apple Store content of any kind.

Plopped right onto your FF’s touchscreen at 4G speed! Sounds divine, in truth, if ultimately a bit pricey via on-the-move purchases.

But what is this about a Subtle Ferrari? Anyone with eyes and ears (and sex organs) has never imagined those two words together before.

Subtle? Only until you hit the gas pedal!

Then this child-seat-able “FerrariFour” suddenly shows its true colors.

And they are bright Rosso Corsa reds under the shooting brake shape.

These are not schoolmarm-ish stats. (What would those be? Let’s say 5’5 , 250.)

They are school’s-out-let’s-party-all-night stats. 6’3 220 stats that will fight and win versus the best all weekend long.

Come Monday, though? Back to work in the same understated and epically-desirable V12 Ferrari.

Stay tuned for the big buyers guide tomorrow!
