Aion Ray 7: Xiaomi SU7 at Half Price Debuts November 12

November 4, 2026

GAC Aion is posting a solid uptick in sales according to October 2026 data. With 42,357 registrations, the year-over-year gain stands at 56.79% versus October 2025. To sustain this momentum, the Chinese automaker plans to unveil the Ray 7 on November 12.

A New Styling Language On The Agenda

The Ray 7’s official launch is only a few days away. In fact, we already know a lot about the vehicle. On the styling front, the Ray 7 showcases a new design language highlighted by a dynamic fastback silhouette. It features a full-width light strip across the vehicle and an illuminated logo. In terms of dimensions, the Ray 7 measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,455 mm in height. Its wheelbase is, for its part, 2,920 mm.

Drivers will enjoy semi-recessed door handles as well as dual five-spoke wheels and distinctive yellow brake calipers. At the rear, you’ll find the lines of the front along with a taillight cluster and, once again, the AION logo.
Inside the cabin, buyers can look forward to a digital instrument cluster and a large floating central touchscreen. A three‑spoke multifunction steering wheel and sport seats are included.

A 702-Kilometer Range

On the equipment front, the Ray 7 will be equipped with an intelligent driver-assistance system. It will use 27 high‑quality sensors, including a Huawei LiDAR and three 4D radars. The system is even based on a derivative of WeRide’s Level 4 robotaxi. This setup enables the car to navigate easily in complex urban environments. In addition, advanced features such as automated parking will be available. Under the hood, the Ray 7 will feature a “super-electric” powertrain. It will incorporate a Huawei DriveONE electric propulsion system along with a thermal-management module from GAC.

All told, this configuration promises a low energy consumption of 9.7 kWh per 100 kilometers (roughly 16 kWh per 100 miles) and a total range of 702 kilometers (about 436 miles). A second Ray 7 variant will also be offered, with a CLTC range of 530 km (about 329 miles). In both versions the vehicle uses lithium iron phosphate batteries. Availability is set for November 12, while pre-orders kicked off on October 17 for this model.

Regarding pricing, the Ray 7 starts at 128,800 yuan (about $17,000) and tops out at 158,000 yuan (about $21,000).
