Paris Motor Show 2026: What French Car Makers Are Expected to Reveal

September 16, 2026

The October 2026 Paris Motor Show will make a grand return. Many manufacturers will be present in Paris to unveil their latest offerings. But what about French brands? A quick tour.

Towards an even more successful 2026 edition?

The Paris Motor Show has been gaining momentum with each edition since the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2024 edition was a true success, drawing a total of more than 500,000 visitors. The organizers want to keep this momentum going with an equally impressive 2026 edition. The show’s positive trend is also reflected in participation. Many manufacturers will be present, with the notable exceptions of Toyota, BMW, Nissan, Mini and Tesla. Conversely, Chinese brands will be particularly prominent, as will the French automakers. They have planned some impressive debuts for visitors.

On the Alpine side, observers should be able to spot new elements on the replacement for the Berlinette. This vehicle is expected to ride on the APP platform, feature two batteries, and a rear dual-motor setup. Alpine, however, intends to go all-in on the A390.
On the Citroën side, visitors will be treated to a nod to the past with the 2CV. Or more precisely, a modern interpretation of the 2CV. We have only a few details for the moment, though the design is expected to echo the post‑war silhouette. The goal is to price it under €15,000 to place it in the “e-car” category.

Renault goes all out!

These are, of course, not the only French brands taking part in the October celebrations at the Paris Expo. DS will also be present, offering visitors the No. 7, a family SUV. An electric version and a combustion version featuring a 145 hp Hybrid are on the agenda. The No. 8 will also be part of DS’s Paris Motor Show lineup.

The French maker that will truly pull out all the stops for this event is Renault. The company has gone big with 50 vehicles available on its 5,000 m² space. Among these 50 vehicles, the Dacia and Alpine lines are included.

Renault notes in a statement that there will be “several new concept cars, 22 electrified vehicles with about half 100% electric and half hybrids.” The Twingo is very likely to be one of the show’s biggest draws in Paris, along with the restyled Megane. On the Peugeot side, the brand will lean on the 208 GTi with a 280-horsepower output. However, Peugeot will not bring its forthcoming E-208, planned for next year.

The Paris Motor Show 2026 will open its doors from October 12 to October 18, 2026. Tickets are already available for this event at the Parc des Expositions in Paris.
