Fiat Topolino Dolcevita Returns, But It Loses One of Its Biggest Draws

September 16, 2026

At its launch late in 2023, the Fiat Topolino was quickly offered in two distinctly different variants.

Fiat Brings Back the Dolcevita Topolino

The first, the most classic, faithfully mirrored the silhouette of the Citroën Ami and its underlying philosophy as well. A body made entirely of plastic, two seats, two rigid doors. The second, named Dolcevita, leaned into originality with a canvas roof and, above all, the absence of doors altogether, replaced by simple cords that evoke the laid-back beach-car vibe. This Dolcevita enjoyed its moment in the sun before disappearing from the market in early 2026, after serving one last time as a limited edition produced in collaboration with the swimwear brand Vilebrequin. But only a few months later, guess who’s back? Yes, Fiat has unveiled a new Fiat 500 Dolcevita Vilebrequin, but with a change that will likely disappoint more than a few: this time the little Italian is equipped with conventional doors rather than cords as before. The good news, however, is that alongside this special edition, Fiat will again offer the Dolcevita within the regular lineup of the mini city car, but with real doors as well.

New equipment, but prices stay incredibly attractive

Granted, with this new configuration it loses a bit of its quirky, beach-side character that defined the previous version. It naturally gains practicality and versatility, which isn’t bad for everyday use. But the philosophy isn’t quite the same anymore; this Dolcevita is effectively just a Topolino with a convertible roof. Aesthetically, it reprises the Verde Vita color already offered on the Topolino, while the canvas sunroof retains its characteristic beige shade, still harmonizing with the special dash finish. On the tech front, it now features a 5.7-inch digital instrument cluster, up from the previous 3.5 inches. As for the rest, the equipment remains as minimalist as ever, faithful to the ethos of these ultra-compact electric city cars available to drive without a license, starting at age 14. And the pricing? This new Fiat Topolino Dolcevita is available in the Fiat France lineup from €10,490, but plan on an additional €3,000 for the Vilebrequin special edition, which will run in parallel. So, are you disappointed by this new version, or excited to enjoy a convertible Fiat Topolino?
