China’s Best-Selling Car Lands in Spain, Priced Under €20,000

September 16, 2026

Geely expands its lineup in Spain with the Geely E2, an electric utility vehicle that in China is sold as the EX2 and that became the best-selling passenger car in the country in 2025, with nearly 466,000 units registered, ahead of even any petrol model.

It arrived at Spanish dealerships this September with an entry price of 19,780 euros.

The best-selling car in China, now in Spain

At a length of 4.135 metres, figures very similar to those of a Renault Clio, the E2 is a compact utility and competes directly with the Renault 5 E-Tech, the BYD Dolphin Surf and the Volkswagen ID.Polo. The boot offers 375 litres, a generous figure for its class, to which is added a 70‑litre front boot designed to store the charging cables.

The Spanish range is structured into three trims: Pro, Pro+ and Max+. The base trim uses a 35 kWh LFP battery and a rear-mounted 82 HP (60 kW) motor, with an officially certified WLTP range of only 252 km. The Pro+ and Max+ trims feature a 47 kWh LFP battery and a 115 HP (85 kW) motor, which raises the WLTP range to 345 km.

In terms of charging, the E2 supports 6.6 kW AC, with a on-board single-phase charger, for all versions. In DC, the maximum power is 60 kW with the 35 kWh battery and 80 kW with the 47 kWh battery, with which Geely promises it can charge from 30 to 80% in about 25 minutes in both configurations.

Prices are very competitive, if we disregard its limited range, since the entry model, the Geely E2 Pro, starts at 19,780 euros. With the Pro+ trim and a 45 kWh battery, the E2 starts from 23,780 euros and the top-of-the-line E2 Max+ tops out at 26,280 euros.

As standard, even in the Pro trim, the E2 comes with adaptive cruise control, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, heated seats and multi-link rear suspension. The warranty is 8 years or 200,000 km.

Compared to the Renault 5 E-Tech, which in its entry-level version is priced similarly but can reach up to 410 km WLTP in the Autonomy Confort variant, the E2 makes a different move. Its cheaper LFP battery, standard fast charging across all versions, and a level of equipment that in this segment is usually reserved for higher trims.
