Tesla Cybertruck Built in One Color for Customization — Vinyl Wrap Covers Stainless Steel Body

April 9, 2026

We already know that interest in the Tesla Cybertruck has gone from colossal to minuscule: in 2025, for every Elon Musk pickup sold, two Dacia Sandero were sold in Spain. Last year only 10,000 units were sold in what has been until now its main market, the United States, so SpaceX is buying them.

The situation is becoming tricky for those who still own one because Tesla has ended the vinyl-wrapping service for the pickup, a fairly popular customization option that some owners used to fix problems with the stainless steel bodywork.

Too expensive… and a service difficult to find

The ‘car wrapping’ or vinyl wrapping is a solution many Tesla owners choose to personalize their cars and protect the original paint from solar radiation or other damage. It lasts 7 to 9 years and since 2023 the brand began offering it on the Cybertruck in 11 colors, including Satin Slip Grey, Satin Rose Gold and Satin Abyss Blue.

Of course, added to the problem of the high price—up to 6,000 euros—was the shortage of authorized centers capable of performing the wrapping on the stainless steel body. Precisely this structural layer of steel that was marketed as indestructible was the main incentive for owners to wrap it: it caused so many problems (fingerprints, scratches and rust stains) that they preferred to cover the body with these decals.
