Toyota Transforms Sienna Minivan Into 60-speaker DJ Booth On Wheels, Redefines Party Van

Minivans were the ancestors of the modern SUV/CUV, and their presence was inescapable during the 1980s and 1990s. While the segment itself is not as popular as it once was, the venerable minivan still plays a key role for many families, especially when it comes to hauling the kids and their gear from place to place. However, did you know that the minivan could also be a rolling party on wheels? Toyota seems to think so, and it has developed the Sienna Remix Concept, which aims to push this point forward in a big way.

Sienna Remix Spins The Vinyl and Pumps Out The Tunes

As the name implies, the Sienna Remix is a rolling paradise for DJs, with the concept boasting a 60-speaker audio system. This system comprises 36 mid-range speakers, six percussion horns, four 12-inch subwoofers, and 14 tweeters. Power comes from 16 amplifiers that allow the system to produce 25,000 watts of power. A 12-channel digital sound processor is also standard, and the eight-channel mixer allows for many connections.

All of this audio power forced Toyota and Texas-based tuner, Complete Customs, to sacrifice some of the van’s usability to achieve this, with the rear seats and the roof rack all being converted to help fit the system in place. Toyota also added more sound-dampening material, heavy-duty springs, and a two-inch suspension lift while the liftgate has been pitched for swing-out style doors. The center roof panel was also replaced with a fully retractable piece, which allows an elevated DJ platform to emerge with the setup featuring digital turntables.

When you’re not spinning records and laying down the beats, the Sienna Remix concept also comes with a 43-inch rear-mounted HD TV that allows occupants to use WiFi to stream video content or video games. The concept is powered by the standard Sienna’s 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder that makes a combined system output of 245 horsepower.

Can I Buy The Sienna Remix?

While this particular concept will be limited to a one-off creation (sorry, upcoming DJs), customers can still get better audio performance with the optional 12-speaker JBL Premium audio system and their choice of either front or all-wheel drive. It’s nice when an automaker decides to have some fun with some of their models. The Toyota Sienna Remix concept is a glowing example of the fun that lurks buried underneath the surface of most functional minivans, especially with the right modifications.
