2024 Kia Soul Gains New EX Design Package, Prices Also Going Up For The New Model Year

The venerable Kia Soul is entering the 2024 model year with minimal changes. But while the core essentials carryover unchanged, Kia is not only making revisions to the pricing ladder but also adding a new package to help keep things fresh.

EX Design Package Adds Style To Soul, Performance Is Unchanged

A prominent change for 2024 is the debut of the EX Designer Package. As the name implies, this EX model exclusive package comes with a slick set of 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth/leatherette seating and a Umber Interior color theme. Kia has also improved vehicle security, with the Soul now getting a new “sleep mode” that kicks in 40 seconds after the vehicle is locked. Look for this feature to be a line of defense against would-be thieves looking to steal the Soul and follows the prior installation of a standard immobilizer on all Hyundai and Kia models back in 2022.

Performance for the 2024 Kia Soul still comes from a 147 horsepower, 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a CVT, with front-wheel drive being the lone drivetrain choice available. The Soul also had a turbocharged engine early in its run, but Kia axed it a few years ago, and it appears that this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

How Much?

In addition to the minor updates, Kia also confirmed that it’s bumping up the pricing ladder for the 2024 model year. We have included a small pricing chart below, with the chart incorporating the $1,325 destination fee.

  • LX: $21,315
  • S: $23,815
  • GT-Line: $24,915
  • EX: $25,615

Look for the first 2024 models to reach Kia showrooms later this year. It will be interesting to see what Kia chooses to do with the Soul moving forward. The model was originally meant to appeal to younger buyers, but sales have been stagnant at best, with the Soul actually experiencing a slight dip in sales over the past few years.
