Bentley Bentayga Gets Sustainable Carpets, Auto Climate Rear Seats For New Model year

The Bentley Bentayga reshaped the way folks thought about Bentley when the luxury SUV allowed the storied British luxury brand to venture into new territory when it first appeared in 2020. The company is preparing some minor updates for its best seller that boosts the amount of luxury on hand and expands the customization experience for potential buyers.

Four-Wheel Steering Sharpens Bentayga’s Handling, Airline Seat Expands Reach

Before we get into some of the other updates that the company has made to the Bentayga for the new model year, we might as well take a moment to talk about the newly added all-wheel steering system. This system is roughly what the name implies and allows the SUV to have four-wheel steering for the first time ever, improving handling and agility. The system will be standard on the Azure and S models, with other trims getting it as an optional extra.

Along with the novel four-wheel steering system, the Bentayga also expands the availability of the bespoke Airline Rear Seat, with the feature now being available on short-wheelbase versions of the Bentayga along with the existing EWB variant. This seat not only comes with automatic posture adjustments but also features a novel climate system that measures the passenger’s temperature and surface humidity every 25 milliseconds, allowing the seat to make near real-time adjustments to ensure maximum comfort. In addition to the bespoke rear seats, the Bentayga also gets the LWB’s recycled nylon carpets with the company claiming that these greener carpets can match the quality of the old wool-based ones. Connectivity also gets upgraded in the Bentayga, and the SUV now gets remote park assist, allowing owners to operate the engine and even smartly park the Bentayga with their phone from 11.5 feet away.

Finally, customization is enhanced with the Bentayga now offering eight new exterior colors (bringing the total available to a mind-boggling 112), 21-inch wheels with three new finishes, and seven sating colors that can be applied to the body. With the Bentayga being Bentley’s best-selling product, the luxury car maker knows that giving buyers the ability to craft an SUV to their tastes is paramount to the overall buying experience.

When Can I Buy a 2024 Bentayga?

If you’re one of the fortunate few who has the funds needed to buy a 2024 Bentayga, the wait won’t be too long, with the first models expected to come to dealerships very soon. The Bentayga is also expected to play a key role in Bentley’s electrified future as the marque prepares to transition to an all-electric lineup. While the current ICE lineup will still be around to help facilitate a smooth transition, look for the next-generation Bentayga to add perhaps an electrified option to help it compete in the growing luxury EV SUV segment.
