Genesis Brings Magma Brand To U.S. GV60 To Lead The Charge

Genesis has made it clear that it intends to be a contender in the luxury car wars and while its products have been the proverbial Cinderella pick in an NCAA bracket, the one item that was missing was a performance model. That’s changing with Genesis bringing the Magma sib-brand to the U.S. Magma sub-brand follows established playbook While the Magma brand’s entry into the U.S. is new, the core script has been used before. The Genesis GV80 SUV coupe concept was slathered in bright orange paint (though the brand never admitted it was launching a sub-brand) and Genesis followed that …

Road Test Review – 2024 Genesis GV70 Electrified Prestige – An EV For The Traditionalist Now With More Tech

In a world where many electric vehicles are embracing exterior styling that borders on the edges of sci-fi, there is a growing pool of customers who want the EV experience but don’t want to be forced to jump headlong into a vehicle that goes too far out of their comfort zone. Genesis is aware of this and has created EVs that channel their green driving mission well and look like their traditional ICE counterparts. However, is this enough to help models like the 2024 GV70 Electrified stand out against a growing pool of EV contenders?   GV70 Electrified Features Familiar …

When Genesis teased the GV80 Coupe as a thinly disguised concept, it was no secret that it caught our attention at the show. Without confirming or denying that the concept was production-bound, Genesis tried to maintain a veil of secrecy. However, it was obvious that the brand was planning on bringing the fight to rivals, and it has confirmed our suspicions with the all-new 2025 GV80 Coupe.   GV80 Coupe Brings Showcar Looks To Dealer Lots The production version of the GV80 Coupe carries over alot of the traits that made the original show car such a hit with show …

Genesis G90 E-Supercharger VS Lexus LS500 F Sport: 2023 Battle of the Luxury Beasts

G90 vs LS500 Review and Comparison The Genesis G90 E-Supercharger and the Lexus LS 500 F Sport are both luxury sedans that offer a premium driving experience, but they have distinct features and characteristics that set them apart. We had the chance to test these two back to back. Be aware that the Genesis had a significantly higher price tag than the Lexus, so while this is apples to apples, it’s maybe a pink lady apple to Gala apple comparison. Road Test Review – 2022 Genesis G80 – Latest G80 Moves Even Closer To German Rivals

The Genesis G80 has always been our favorite whenever it visits the office. It was already an exceptional value lay in the luxury segment when it was known as the Hyundai Genesis. The second generation G80 pivoted closer to the brand’s core mission, but there was no denying that it was still a Hyundai underneath. Genesis has listened to these complaints and has launched the revamped 2022 G80. Road Test Review – 2022 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige, Filling Out Genesis’s Luxury Utility Footprint

When we had our chance to drive the Genesis GV80 awhile back, it appeared to signal a shift in Genesis’s plans for the luxury market, with the Korean upstart focusing more on utilities and crossovers after initially starting its launch with two sedan models. The GV80 is still a very good luxury SUV, but Genesis knows that it has to gradually move towards smaller segments and embraces a sportier lifestyle in order to expand its sales footprint. 2020 Hyundai Genesis G90 Ultimate Review – With major revamp, can it still be a luxury bargain?

When the first generation Genesis G90 appeared on the scene, it was trying to rid itself of a fresh identity crisis that dated back to when it was formerly known as the Hyundai Equus. The Equus was a flagship sedan with potential, but it didn’t get the flashy state of the art fashion designs that its rivals got. Instead, its exterior design was more akin to a bland sweater or cardigan that your relatives got you for Christmas at the last minute. Great news for Hyundai owners and those considering swapping to Hyundai from another nameplate: the JD Power Initial Quality Awards rankings show the Genesis, Elantra and Accent as the best in the classes. 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 – Road Test Review of FAST and FUN RWD Sportscar

Does something or someone become more beautiful the more you love it? I think we all know that the answer is: Yes. Such were my feelings after driving the 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8. Coming home, I find some of the most stunning photos and time-consuming angles of any car in recent memory – and the car is looking stellar. Sporty, lightweight, expensive and fast – but most of all, bright red. Was I so smitten that I kept snapping away long after I had the basics for a road test review? It would clearly seem that way. After all, …

2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 V8 Shows Far Better Real-Life Proportions and Cabin Quality Than Expected

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is a tough cookie to figure out. Our initial impressions were less-than-favorable following the machine’s debut last month. But in the flesh? The new Genesis does pack far better proportions that ever before, with that long hood one of the most appealing in the segment. It honestly reminded me of the second-generation BMW 7-series, which is a longtime favorite car of mine. The day ran out before would could slide behind the 5.0-liter Genesis’s wheel, but it was extremely well-received in Atlanta — wining the award for its segment with big praise coming from almost everyone …

Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec – Wheel Colors Visualizer! Plasti-Dip Fantastic Voyage

The Genesis Coupe is well-loved among the auto tuning community –for good reason! It is a wonderful canvas. But is tuning just a left-coast thing? This group in the Southeastern US seems just as passionate as our pals in SoCal. Evidence? This Plasti-dip wheel respray was the second or third color choice our pal’s GC had worn. He loves wheel color! Said he developed a taste for it after adding a 9PSI turbocharger to his previous Toyota Yaris — bringing its total power tally of more than double what it was from the factory. 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.6 R-Spec at Cars & Coffee – Wearing Custom Lime Green Wheels!

Colors like this custom Plasti-Dip shade can be ordered as a special formulation from Plasti-Dip website. My solution was much jankier when doing my wheels in anthracite grey — a quick blast of color into the wet black Plasti-dip that was the only variety I could find in Chicago. But color is harder than adding a grey flash. These most likely start with a white Plasti-dip base and add color from there. The effect on the Genesis Coupe is definitely striking in person, but also the right amount of mature — these green wheels are actually pretty subtle versus …

Concept to Reality — Design Analysis — Hyundai HCD-14 to the All-New 2015 Genesis — Plus US Pricing and Equipment

Last week we explored the fresh and innovative appearances of the Hyundai Intrado concept SUV, HCD-9 Coupe concept and the PassoCorto sports car concept — with generous praise for the ideas and execution shown in all three.   Will that gravy train keep rolling with the new Genesis? Unfortunately, after comparing the two side-by-side and in detail: the answer is a firm “No.”   Overall, the transition from HCD-14 to Genesis loses all of the concept’s unique surfaces, elegance,  and all semblance of premium appeal. 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track Pack — Looking Great in Latest Real Life Photos!

The driving characteristics of the Genesis coupe remain unknown to this author. I tried to go spend some time reviewing sporty Hyundai or Kia models since making some bold critiques of the Sorento’s variable electric steering last fall. I was not eager to report how atrocious the Sorento’s steering was in all three settings — but honesty and authenticity are sorely lacking from most auto mags these days. How unhelpful is that for shoppers? As you may know by now, we are not into dancing around the truth until the page runs out. Alas, no test drive (or even interior …

Insider: How Electric Vehicles Can Save You Money in the Long Run

There has been an increase in cars that use alternative energy sources as their primary power source. The one reason driving this change is lower fuel costs than conventional gas or diesel-powered vehicles. In order to understand why these new types of models are cheaper, it makes sense to compare them with the aspects of the cost associated with conventional alternatives. First of all, battery and hybrid engines are much more efficient than the ones powering conventional cars when converting stored energy into motion – which translates into less power consumption per mile driven. This can be seen as a …
