In October 2026, China’s specialist in intelligent electric vehicles, Nio, slowed its pace. For the month, the group delivered 34,246 vehicles, across all brands. That figure is down from September and below October 2025, after more than two years of uninterrupted growth. At the same time, year-to-date volumes remain firmly higher. This situation paints a particularly mixed picture of its trajectory.
According to a press release dated November 1, 2026, Nio logged 334,547 deliveries from January through October. The year-over-year rise sits at roughly 38.5%, and it already surpasses the total for 2025. In the process, the automaker crossed the milestone of 1,332,139 vehicles delivered since inception. Yet behind these headline totals, the brand-by-brand breakdown—Nio, Onvo, and Firefly—tells a different story. The large ES8 SUV sits at the center of this equation and of the group’s premium-strategy initiatives.
Nio’s October 2026 deliveries mark a turning point in the momentum
For the month of October 2026 alone, Nio reported 34,246 vehicles delivered. The group had counted 37,408 in September, representing a decline of about 8.4% month over month. Compared with October 2025, the year-over-year drop approaches 15.2%. This is the first dip since February 2024, after a run of 31 consecutive months of rising deliveries.
Between January and October, Nio totaled 334,547 deliveries. The rise stands at roughly 38.5% compared with the same period in 2025. That cumulative volume already exceeds the total for 2025 and showcases the automaker’s growing strength. Tracking data show that growth was still near 49% after nine months. It slips to around 38% after ten months, a sign that October’s performance weighs clearly on the curve.
Nio, Onvo, Firefly: three brands driving growth despite the slowdown
The Nio brand accounted for 18,125 deliveries in October, more than half of the group’s total. Its sales are still up about 5.7% year over year, but down roughly 15% versus September. On October 23, 2026, the electric SUV Nio All-New ES8 crossed the symbolic milestone of 160,000 deliveries. In the January–October period, this model topped the retail sales chart in the large-SUV segment. It also dominates the price band around 400,000 yuan, just over €50,000.
For Onvo, the figures are down: 8,383 vehicles in October, a year-over-year drop of 51.7%. In contrast, Firefly climbs to 7,738 deliveries in October, up about 30.9% year over year. Firefly accounts for nearly 23% of the month’s volumes, versus 52.9% for Nio and 24.5% for Onvo. For Nio, the electric-vehicle market relies less on specifications and more on brand strength. The October lull nonetheless underscores the pressure bearing on the entire lineup.
