The Porsche Cayenne has entered a new era with its first fully electric version. A variant that has left us wide‑eyed in terms of dynamism, especially the Turbo variant. And just like the gasoline and hybrid Cayenne, the Electric Cayenne will soon be offered with a more streamlined body style called Coupé.
On the occasion of the first tests of the Cayenne Electric, we were also able to take a close look at the new Porsche Cayenne Coupé Electric, a crossover that feels more like a luxury super‑saloon than a true coupé.
Porsche Cayenne Coupé Electric: the same car, now with more style
Porsche has learned long ago that the Cayenne is a best‑seller for the brand. And when the Cayenne Coupé was launched in 2019, Cayenne sales nearly doubled versus 2018, precisely thanks to the new Coupé body style. According to Porsche data, 16% of SUV customers want one with a coupé look. Thus, the Electric Cayenne also debuts a coupé‑style body.
Up to the windshield, a Cayenne Electric and a Cayenne Coupé Electric are identical. Everything changes from there with a completely new body whose visual identity is defined by a sculpted silhouette, with a smoothly sloping roofline, and above all by the shape of the side glass: identical in form to those of a Porsche 911. If it has to evoke a coupé, let it evoke the most emblematic one in history.
However, the silhouette does not end in a rounded tail, as with the 911, but with a step and a tail that is nearly cut vertical. The adaptive rear wing thus integrates harmoniously with the body. Porsche once again proposes a nearly vanished body style: a two-and-a-half‑volume silhouette, a crossover between a five‑door body and the classic four‑door sedan.
And all of this in a package whose main dimensions do not vary: 4,985 mm in length, 2,027 mm in width and more than three meters of wheelbase. Only the height is now smaller, 1,650 mm tall instead of 1,674 mm.
The Coupé sits 24 millimeters lower than the conventional SUV and achieves a drag coefficient of only 0.23 (versus 0.25 for the SUV), which translates into up to 15 kilometers of additional range depending on the version. The Porsche Active Aerodynamics system, with cooling air flaps and the adaptive rear spoiler, intelligently optimizes efficiency, aero load and cooling.

Inside, there are no changes compared to the Cayenne Electric: the same screens, the same seats and the same superb interior space. And the 2.4 cm it has lost in height does not alter that aspect on board, although if you are taller than 1.90 m you can still sit comfortably in the back.

The range offers three variants with identical performance in acceleration, top speed and a 113 kWh battery pack that matches their SUV counterparts. The Cayenne Coupé Electric of 442 hp, the Cayenne S Coupé Electric of 666 hp, and the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric of 1,156 hp. This version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, the same time as a Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Despite the sporty trim, the Coupé does not give up practicality. The rear trunk capacity reaches 534 liters and up to 1,347 liters with the rear seats folded. The front trunk adds an additional 90 liters.

The towing capacity is up to 3,500 kg and there is an optional off‑road package. The Lightweight Sport Package option includes a carbon roof, 22‑inch wheels and reduces weight by up to 17.6 kg. Standard equipment includes a panoramic roof and the Sport Chrono package.
