A very wealthy client already loves his hybrid sedan. But he wants an even more extreme version. At Karma Automotive, this highly particular wish gave rise to an extraordinary project: a four-seat, plug-in hybrid track car powered by a 6.2-liter V8 and an electric drivetrain. The total claimed output approaches nearly 1,200 hp for a single owner.
This one-off model will make its public debut on October 31, 2026, at Wynn Las Vegas Concours. Karma is a small American ultra-luxury builder that produces its cars in hundreds rather than thousands. There it will unveil the first creation of its new bespoke program Eximius. Named Karma Eximius 1, this four-seat track sedan is being developed with an anonymous sponsor. Deliveries are slated for 2027, and the project also serves as a technology showcase.
Karma Eximius 1: A Track Sedan for One Client
It all started with a very direct exchange with a client who loves his Revero. “Eximius 1 began as a conversation with an elite customer who adores his Karma Revero, but wanted something more extreme and unexpected, which was music to our ears”, explains Marques McCammon, Karma Automotive’s president and chief executive, in a company release. “The Eximius program essentially removes the word ‘no’ from conversations about what’s possible, and as a four-seat track weapon housing what will be the series-hybrid plug-in drivetrain and the most powerful vehicle ever developed, Eximius 1 shatters expectations and further cements Karma as a maker of exotic, all-American cars”, he adds.
To meet such requests, Karma created the Eximius program. It sits above its Studio customization offering. Clients can work directly with design and engineering teams to modify bodywork, performance, and the powertrain. The aim: craft a One-of-One specimen that will never be reproduced. The manufacturer plans only nine Eximius projects in total, each unique. A program reserved for a select handful of global collectors.
Under the Carbon, a Nearly 1,200-HP Plug-In Hybrid V8
Technically, the Karma Eximius 1 is poised to be one of the most radical plug-in hybrids on offer today. Under the hood sits a 6.2-liter V8 paired with a “Plug-in Series Hybrid” layout. In this configuration, the gasoline engine primarily acts as a generator, with propulsion supplied by electricity. Karma quotes 550 hp from the gas engine and 645 hp from the battery. Combined output pushes up to about 1,200 hp. 0–60 mph is estimated at 2.7 seconds. Top speed would exceed 322 km/h (roughly 200 mph).
The entire carbon-fiber body is equipped with 50 mm wider fenders and 21-inch magnesium wheels. Carbon-ceramic brakes with two-piece discs and Öhlins semi-active suspension reinforce its track-ready stance. Aerodynamics add a carbon front splitter, large air intakes, a “Comet Line” and a Borealis Blue finish, plus a substantial rear wing and diffuser. The cabin lines up four carbon-fiber Recaro bucket seats, wrapped in blue Alcantara and Italian leather. A minimalist center console sits beside a bespoke race helmet mounted between the rear seats.
