Maserati has always been known for pushing the envelope of design and performance when it comes to its linup of vehicles. The MC20 is the spearhead of this push but while having the right vehicles to draw plenty of stares is one part of the ownership experience, Maserati knows that some of their buyers take their vehicles out on track days and as such, having a good set of stylish clothing is a must to help cement the image that the Italian brand is trying to project. This need fueled a new partnership between Maserati and Sparco for a new lineup of racing clothing and accessories.
Bespoke style for any track day
The partnership comes in the form of two distinct clothing lines the “Maserati Corse Replica” line and the hardcore “MCXtrema Racing Kit” with both of the names being derived from the MC20. Both lines feature technical clothing as well as suits, helmets, shoes, gloves, and other accessories. The two do differ slightly when it comes to the details with the Corse line serving as the “entry-level” lineup. However, don’t mistake it for thrift store grade quality with Spareco giving Corse buyers specially constructed Futura racing gloves, MC20 Forumla SHoes with special perforations, and the choice of two helmets. A separate ladies set is also available and a set of custom duffel bags rounds out the look.
As expected, the MCXtrema line is the more hardcore of the bunch and is part of the broader MCXperience that it already offers buyers who purchased “The Beast.” The line includes the MCXtrema Top Suit for maximum performance as well as the “Super Light Suit” which is supposed to blend style and technology with advanced safety gear. They are combined with the Prime Extreme “MCXtrema Laces Shoes” with transparent silicone reinforcement and flexible carbon insole, for high levels of protection and stability during the race, or the Prime Evo “MCXtrema Strap Shoes” with tongue and back insert in single-layer stretch jacquard for the utmost comfort in the driving position. The setup is rounded out by Arrow+ MCXtrema gloves which feature a fla HTX style palm to comply with FIA regulations.
When can I buy one?
Maserati didn’t release pricing for both clothing lines but expect the items in both of these clothing lines to command a hefty premium when compared to other clothing and gear that Maserati sells. Despite that, if you’re a well-heeled buyer whose looking for the perfect Christmas gift for the Maserati enthusiast in your life, the nifty racing suits Maserati and Sparco made are certainly worth a closer look.
