Ram Announces Ram Revolution Campaign, Seeks Ideas From Consumers

The Ford F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet Silverado EV are spearheads for the EV pickup market. Both trucks come with the latest in the state of the art technology, electrifying performance, and enhanced lifestyle features. However, the fact we talked about only two trucks in that preceding sentence highlights the absence of Stellantis and Ram. We have not heard much about Ram’s entry into the market, but the company seeks to change that with the all-new Ram Revolution campaign.

Ram Revolution Not Official Name Of Truck

Contrary to some recent rumors, the Revolution portion of that program is not the official name of the truck, which remains shrouded in a veil of mystery. Instead, the program is a campaign designed to help gather ideas and input from consumers. The site will also serve as a hub of information that will help keep potential buyers updated on the truck’s progress and events related to the model, including a planned tour called the “Ram Real Truck Talk” tour.

This level of promotion is needed since the Ram EV will be tasked with naming up ground that was lost to Ford and GM in developing and preparing for full-scale EV pickup production. Promoting the truck via interactive tours and openly taking input and suggestions from buyers are two key ways that Ram could help shrink the gap and promote other electrified technologies simultaneously.

What We Know About The Ram BEV?

As mentioned, the bulk of the truck is still shrouded in mystery, with critical details still waiting to be revealed. However, some tantalizing morsels have slipped through Ram’s information blockade, with reports suggesting that the BEV will be underpinned by Stellantis’s STLA Frame EV platform with higher-spec models reportedly using a 188 kWh battery pack that can deliver a range of up to 500 miles before it needs to be recharged.

The shape itself will be radically different than what’s seen on ICE-powered Rams, with the wind tunnel playing a more significant role in how the body is sculpted. Ram released two images to go along with its Ram Revolution announcement. The second image shows what the underpinnings will look like with the battery pack being nestled directly underneath the floor. Look for the Ram EV to make its debut sometime in 2023, with the truck being a key cog in the broader plans for Stellantis’s EV revolution. It will be interesting to see how the truck does, but it will have plenty of ground to make up, and Stellantis will also have its work cut out in regards to catching up with the rest of the EV bandwagon after years of being left behind in the dust of others.
