2022 Nissan Sentra Brings Light Updates, Retains $20,485 Base MSRP Price

The current generation Nissan Sentra first arrived on the scene in 2020 when it was radically revamped for that particular model year. With such an extensive list of changes, Nissan has chosen to give a lighter touch to the Sentra for 2022 with a small suite of updates as well as a slightly tweaked base price for customers looking to add the compact four-door to their garage.

Minor Updates Add Big Value To Sentra

Before we get into some of the broader pricing tweaks, we might as well spend some time covering all three of the updates that will be coming to the Sentra for 2022. A big boost in the safety department is that Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance features will now be standard across the entire Sentra model range. That means that even the base Sentra will now come with standard goodies such as blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and even automatic rear braking.

Meanwhile, the Sentra SV now comes with an optional All-Weather package that helps give the Sentra some extra gear to make it a better four-season offering. That includes heated seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and remote engine start capability. Look for this package to be popular in snow-laden parts of the country, where having some extra heat can be a very welcome thing to have when the mercury drops into the lower digits.

The Midnight Bell Tolls For Sentra SR

If you’re looking at a Sentra SR, the sport-tinged model will now be the latest recipient of the Midnight Edition treatment. Like other Midnight Edition Nissans, this Sentra goes to the dark side with items like the V-Motion-styled front grille, badging, and even the rear spoiler, all being replaced with darkened accents. The model also comes with trim exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels to help sharpen up its street cred and bring more style to the compact sedan. For the moment, neither the Midnight Edition nor the All-Weather Package has officially made their way to the official Sentra configurator tool. Hence, we get to wait a bit to see how much both of these packages will add to the final price of a Sentra.

Speaking of pricing, Nissan has done an excellent job of holding the bulk of the pricing ladder intact for 2022, with the Sentra S retaining its $20,485 base price and the SV maintaining its tidy $21,545 admission fee. The lone exception is the range-topping SR trim which gets its price bumped up by $250 to a revised total of $23,075 with all three of these prices, including the $975 destination fee.
