Auto Industry Insider: How to Make Your RV Feel Like Home

RVs are meant to be like a home away from home, but they don’t always feel like it. A regular RV will usually have a very simple interior design that might not fit your personality or taste. It’s your job to transform that RV and make it feel comfortable. Thankfully, there are some simple things that anyone can do to make their RV better, and somewhere you’ll look forward to lounging and sleeping in. Here are a few tips to personalise your RV and make it feel like a second home.

Decorate the Walls

If you walk around your house, there’s a strong chance that you have either pictures hanging on the walls or pieces of art. Why not do the same with your RV? A great way to upgrade your RV would be to hang lightweight posters. Since you can’t use nails, you can use adhesive hangers with a little bit of mounting putty to keep them in place when you’re on the move.

Use Scents

Humans have a very strong connection with scents. It has even been said that our scent memory is the strongest of all our senses. By bringing familiar scents into your RV, your brain will make an emotional connection and you’ll instantly feel more comfortable. An oil diffuser will do a great job of freshening up your space.

Turn it Into Your Bedroom

Your RV’s most important function is sleep, so why not turn it into your bedroom? One of the first things you should do is ditch the often-uncomfortable mattresses that come with RVs. Buy the same type of mattress that you’re using back home and add soft sheets and plush pillows.

Don’t Forget Entertainment

You also have to make sure that you have as much entertainment as you can and get to enjoy most of the things you do back home. What you like doing most during your free time will have to be considered as you may have to make modifications.

If your pastime requires a lot of energy, such as gaming, you will need to look into shore power or solar power to supplement your current power supply. You will also need to have access to the internet.

If you’re not intending to stay at parks that have Wi-Fi, we suggest that you tether your devices to your phone’s internet. Check if your carrier allows for tethering and make sure that you have a solid data plan. We also suggest you get something like a WeBoost to strengthen the connection. This is important if you want to play somewhere like Spin Casino and don’t want your connection to be dropped while in the middle of an important hand.

When it comes to monitors, most RVs will come with one, but it can be on the small side. If you want something bigger, you can always get one and install it using wall mounts.

These are all things that will allow you to make your RV feel like home. You should always continue to improve it until you get as close as possible to the real thing.
