Hennessey Pumps Up Ram TRX With All New Mammoth Custom Truck, Brings 1,000 Horsepower To The Fray

The Ram TRX shocked the system when it made its debut last year. Designed to bring the Ford Raptor to its knees, the truck boasts a 702 horsepower version of the familiar 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat V8 and enough off-road upgrades to make it an absolute beast out on the trails. But what if you took a TRX, added more power, and added enhanced levels of off-road capability? If your the folks at Hennessey you get the all new Mammoth TRX which transforms the truck into a four wheeled kaiju of destruction

Ram TRX Goes To The Ice Age For All New Moniker

As the name implies, the Hennessey Mammoth 1000 is the very vibrant answer to a first world problem with Hennessey engineers being inspired by the mighty Wooly Mammoth which is a symbolic creature of the Ice Age. At the moment, the truck only exists as a mere rendering but this detailed drawing does promise a number of big things for truck buyers.

According to the Texas tuning firm all Mammoths benefit from a 2.5 inch suspension lift that will be headlined by all new 20-inch wheels. The front fascia will feature a boldly styled bull bar as well as an accompanying light bar to help light the way when the Mammoth is tasked with late night trail busting. Copious amounts of badging is also splashed onto the truck for good measure and that should make it a very distinctive sight when its rumbling down the roads of the nation.

Setting The Stage For Performance

Hennessey claims that the Mammoth in the rendering is merely a “Stage 1” package which seems to indicate that the Mammoth is capable of achieving higher levels of performance if higher stage levels are picked. This would coincide with past Hennessey offerings which also offer higher stages of performance for those that want even more muscle and visceral sound from their custom rig.

For the moment Hennessey is willing to only give us a glimpse at the performance that this supposed Stage 1 truck will have with the tuned Hellcat V8 projected to produce 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft of torque. This is achieved with a number of key upgrades that aim at radically beefing up the Mammoth’s fun factor. They include an upgraded supercharger assembly, a tweaked engine calibration, a modified exhaust system and even upgraded pulleys. The tuning firm claims that a Mammoth with this setup will make the sprint to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds which would make it the quickest Ram, based custom that Hennessey has ever built.

“The RAM 1500 TRX is exciting in stock configuration, but I’m seeking extraordinary,” revealed Hennessey CEO John Hennessey. “The Mammoth 1000 upgrades completely transform this impressive pickup into something astonishingly powerful, visually exciting, and indisputably unique.”

When Can I Buy A Mammoth?

Ordering for the Hennessey Mammoth 1000 are open now, but buyers will have to be quick on the draw if they want one for themselves. Hennessey revealed that it will only be building a mere 200 examples for all of 2021 with each one having a base price of $135,350. It’s unknown how much optional extras and the promised higher levels of performance will add to the bottom line, but look for this beast of a truck to be worth every penny.
