Dodge Expands Daytona Package Availability To Scat Pack and R/T Models According To Report

When Dodge announced the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition late last year, it was limited to only 501 examples, and it brought a number of performance enhancements that were exclusive to the model. But for buyers that want to get in on the fun, but were either late to the party or deterred by the high price tag, Dodge has just now opened the order books for a new wave of Daytona Edition models according to the folks from Mopar Insiders.

Unlike their fire breathing predecessor, these Daytona Edition offerings will only be available for Scat Pack and R/T grade models, and would follow a similar game plan that defined older iterations of Charger that were equipped with the Daytona package. While the performance enhancements on hand are not quite as extreme as they are on the Hellcat, buyers that order one will still benefit from a pinch of extra performance thanks to a Mopar cold air intake under the hood as well as model exclusive wheels. Otherwise, the changes here are more aesthetic with a black rear spoiler and a satin black Daytona graphic that runs across the fenders and the rear decklid itself. Both versions have upgraded their side mirrors, and they will now tilt downward automatically when the transmission is shifted into reverse to help improve visibility with the rear view mirror now featuring an automatic dim feature.

The interior of these Daytonas will come equipped with Nappa Leather and Alcantara seats with the Daytona logo being prominently present in the center of the back rest. Heated seats are included for front and rear passengers, and the dashboard even benefits from a premium stitched design with gloss black rings for the gauge cluster. A power tilt and telescoping steering wheel is also part of the package and goes along well with the additional LED lighting elements scattered throughout the cabin. As a bonus, illuminated rear cup holders, model exclusive floor mats, and memory settings for the seats, radio, and the outside mirrors rounds out the package.

The biggest difference between the R/T and the Scat Pack Daytona’s will be found in other details starting with the wheel offerings. The Charger R/T for example will sit on 20 x 9 inch Lights Out painted wheels. The Scat Pack on the other hand enhances its profile ever so slightly, with wider 20 x 9.5 inch forged and painted aluminium wheels. Scat Pack variants also add more satin black decals to the roof and hood as well as a grille mounted Daytona badge. The mirrors here are even more luxurious, and come equipped with power folding capability, blind spot monitoring, and heating capability for the mirror glass. The interior of the Scat Pack version also features a Daytona badge on the dashboard which is supposed to blend seamlessly with the Carbonite accents that are scattered about.

Adding the package to a Charger R/T or Scat Pack will add a $3,495 premium to the base MSRP, with the Charger R/T having a base price of $41,385 and the Scat Pack boasting a slightly higher $44,985 sticker with both figures including the destination fee (but not any options that buyers might choose to equip to them.) The new model will be offered in 12 different colors including three new 2020 colors (Frostbite, Hellrasin, and Sinamon Stick.) Dodge for its part has not formally confirmed the report, but look for these models to make their way to showrooms sometime this summer, especially if the quick launches of other special edition FCA models is in full effect here for the Daytonas.
