Talk about a tough car to judge from the renderings!
The new AMG GT 4-door is quite polarizing from all sides. Is it a super-CLS or a proper supercar with four doors?
This top 63 S model is certainly the top of the ranks. Its giant chrome grille bars are flagship Mercedes of the future, while its giant bright tailpipes and huge upright rear wing are quite the statement pieces.
Say what you will about its globby surfacing…. this machine looks like an escaped DTM car in motion at Goodwood.

2019 McLaren SENNA GTR – Best of Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 July 27, 2018, 12 pm The McLaren Senna is already such an insanely aggressive and unique new hypercar. Its looks instantly make the entire Lambo and Ferrari lineups seem hopelessly dated. The raw energy from these sliced and diced panels hardly needed a racing upfit. But here we are. This Senna GTR is absolutely shocking in its design brutality. The functional nature of the aero additions are makes them even more interesting and beautiful to the eye. Check out this nose -- not just the usual surfboard chin splitter here, oh no. What they've done is remove any air-blocking flat surfaces from the nose. … 2018 Nissan GTR50 Concept By ItalDesign – Goodwood FoS 2018 Debut July 27, 2018, 2 pm Very interesting collaboration here where ItalDesign was tasked with a re-skin a Nissan GT-R fully, inside and out, as a celebration of the car's 50-year legacy. More than a reskin, even. Re-imagining? Reboot? Yes. Possible hints at next-gen model expected for the 2020 model year? Yes of course. But mostly this exercise just celebrates the GT-R's essence and moves the vehicle noticeably upmarket. Even as a $100k car the GT-R does lack the class and panache of true supercars, in some respects, with the current model's workmanlike exterior and interior. How to go high-fashion without dulling the GT-R's ace… Design Analysis – 2018 BMW M8 Concept GranCoupe – Goodwood FoS 2018 July 25, 2018, 4 pm BMW needs some new halo vehicles at the top of its lineup. Both to compete with the rockstar AMG GT as well as subdue all the M-car loyalists who despise the i8. The new 8 series serves that purpose nicely. And before it has even arrived -- we have a new variant with totally unique styling and details. Oh, and two extra doors. The M8 GranCoupe concept tries to keep the Mustang-like raciness of the 850's roofline while squeezing in two seats back there. Headroom!? Who cares! How is this different than the current M6 GC, you ask? Scale.… 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS – Detailed Photoset at Amelia 2018 March 26, 2018, 6 pm GT2RS is one of the most fearsome Porsche badges of them all. And there have been quite a few. What this means for 2019 is all-new for a street 911. Pricing from $330k with performance just a hair away from the Best. The Bugatti Chiron. Perhaps 2.2-seconds to 60-mph is possible here with 700HP. We have a lovingly detailed photo-set of the beast in person from Amelia Island Concours 2018. And forgive the sacrilege... we photoshopped some Skittles colors on for good measure. Enjoy! 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS 2018 Mercedes-AMG Project ONE – Amelia Island Concours 2018 Photoset March 18, 2018, 5 pm The AMG Project ONE has an undeniable magic in the flesh that is absent in most photography. The slinky, almost formless nature of the bodywork is actually a pure, emotive skin wrapped tight around each wheelhouse like cheekbones. A supermodel of a machine if there ever was one. The dimensions alone are damn near Chiron large, for one, but the cabin tucked inboard radically too. A lower than low roof and snorkel intake up top are almost casual in their hardcore obviousness. Watching the car arrive silently was quite a spectacle indeed. Project ONE is a star! Even with… 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Brings More Technology & Style To NAIAS 2018 January 17, 2018, 11 pm Volkswagen’s Golf lineup is proof of how dominant the German auto giant can be in the small car market. The Jetta on the other hand, was an example of what happened when bean counters were given free reign in designing a car. With cheaper materials, and a mediocre interior. Volkswagen’s interpretation of a compact sedan for the U.S. was lost in translation, especially with buyers. The 2019 Jetta aims to correct this with new technology and a host of updates that make it better than ever. The exterior styling of the outgoing Jetta was about as bland as buttered… 2018 Morgan 3.7 Roadster – Gallery at Amelia Island Concours 2019 March 15, 2019, 3 pm Who knew that gloss black would look as good on some old-school wire wheels as it does on modern five-spoke alloys! This Morgan Roadster at Amelia Concours was a sight to behold - even sitting among its more powerful or more three-wheeled siblings in the Morgan range. Calling this the Morgan Roadster might seem slightly silly: aren't they all roadsters, you might ask? That is besides the point. This is the V6 Roadster whose 5-second sprint to 60-mph and 140-mph top speed are perhaps the ideal performance levels for most shoppers. Fast and fun with a 3.7-liter motor making… Road Test Comparision – 2019 Volvo XC40 T5 R-Design AWD Versus 2018 Jaguar E-Pace… August 3, 2018, 10 pm When the Volvo XC40 was first unveiled to the world, it not only represented Volvo's first formal entry into the small luxury CUV ranks, but it also came with a whole host of bold promises including youthful appeal, a budget friendly pricing ladder, as well as a revolutionary subscription service. But can the Volvo XC40 indeed be the one to fulfill these promises, while also still succeeding at its root mission in the CUV ranks at the same time? At first glance, the XC40 certainly has the aesthetic goods to back it up. While the exterior canvas is distinctively… 2019 Mercedes-AMG GLS63 – Road Test Review – By Matt Barnes November 15, 2018, 2 pm With a $125,000 base price, the Mercedes GLS 63 AMG is out of range for many people. For those who have the wherewithal and need to haul six people, it is an excellent -- and perhaps only -- choice. Featuring a hand assembled AMG 5.5 liter twin turbo (Mercedes calls it a biturbo) V8 with 577 horsepower and 561 torque, the GLS AMG has only one three-row performance competitor: the 475 horsepower Dodge Durango SRT 392. [Audi is not bringing the diesel SQ7 to the USA.] When it comes to luxury, the Mercedes is at the top in this… 2015 Mercedes-Benz Concept PHEV Van – Hybrid Tech May Join USA-Bound Metris in 2019 April 17, 2015, 10 am It is Mercedes Van day here at Car-Revs-Daily! We've spent a few hours this morning learning about the MB van ranges -- and came away fairly perplexed but very impressed overall. Confusing? Slightly. The Metris mid-size commercial and tourer (with seats) vans that are coming to America in September are part of a 40-strong lineup of vehicles from this platform. There is the Euro work-van Vito, the family hauler Viano, luxury V-Class and the campers called Marco Polo. Not just lots of names -- we counted at least 10 engines available, and options for front-drive, rear-drive or AWD. That… Mercedes-Benz 2014 Goodwood Sculpture Is Huge But Not As Cool As The Floored Racecars! June 27, 2014, 1 pm Every year's Goodwood Festival of Speed has a lead automaker sponsor - the brand pays extra for the best show space, the right to brand the entryways, and numerous other places to be top-of-mind with showgoers. 2014 is Mercedes-Benz - and the MB UK team is bringing an awesome fleet of cars to race up the hill. The statue over the Goodwood House is pretty intense due to its sheer scale, but is pretty boring overall - a tired concept, in my eyes. Giant twin arcs of white-painted steel meet in the middle with two Mercedes-Benz racecars perched atop… 2014 Mercedes-Benz E400 BlueTec Hybrid – Gibraltar to Goodwood… In One Tank of Diesel? June 27, 2014, 12 pm Is EU Immigration reform debate stymied by classy and comfortable luxury cars!? It seems the E-Class Mercedes-Benz is as good as any passport for slipping from Africa up to the UK on just one tank of fuel... Of course, the Diesel-electric energy solution has long been the preferred method for locomotives - but thought too expensive for cars until Mercedes-Benz and a few French OEMs built them both into one car.
