Does Pebble Beach feel like eons ago? Less than a week since $300-million in cars were sold at auction. And about the same value of collectibles driving all around town.
Alfa Romeo had a strong presence at 2017 Monterey Car Week. Always a favorite on the lawn on Sunday, the brand is now heavily promoting their new Stelvio SUV and Giulia sport sedan.
Both have pricing from about $50k and look a million times more special than their BMW rivals.
Here are a few dozen of our favorite Alfa Romeos from Pebble Beach and beyond. Special access to a Stelvio clay model in the barrel room of Folktale Winery is a special treat! Alfa brought the very rare and very special TZ2 out for some time in the sun beside the 4C Spider.
Thanks to James Crabtree for the photos.

Monterey Car Week 2017 is in full swing. Centenario's are like Corolla's here. In the middle of August, Pebble Beach is indeed the center of the automotive universe. A huge thanks to Anthony for… 2017 Monterey Car Week REVEALS List – Pebble Beach, The Quail & Concorso Italiano August 16, 2017, 1 pm This is crunchtime for car writers and news junkies alike! America's Goodwood, aka Pebble Beach, has gone from a concours to an all-out supercar auto show extravaganza. What we learned on a trip to the event in 2014 is that Monterey Car Week is actually a full week of performance joy! The classics and icons are peppered throughout the experience, of course, but mainly take center stage on the oceanfront fairway only on Concours Sunday. Until then, there are ride/drive events, VIP receptions, press events and media previews galore at the Quail, Concorso Italiano, RM Sotheby's in downtown Monterey..… Amazing 1971 Alfa-Romeo Caimano and 1976 Alfa-Romeo Navajo Concepts July 12, 2014, 7 pm So many supercar concepts, so little time! These two really cool ideas that did not get made into production models. The Caimano is based on the small, rear-drive Alfasud platform - but with one key difference: the windshield is part of a one-piece canopy door that hinges upward -- just like the coolest concepts seen from Ferrari in the 512 series. The Navajo, on the other hand, is crisp to the extreme. With a huge wing in back that makes it look more like a stunt airplane than a sports car. 1971 Alfa-Romeo Caimano 1976 Alfa-Romeo… 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900C SS Zagato vs. 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C SS Spider September 3, 2014, 12 pm This silver Alfa-Romeo is pretty sneaky: dirty = dollars! Being filthy dirty and in barn-find condition actually may have doubled the sale price of $1.02-million. That and the cars only-recent discovery and arrival on the market. Or its racing pedigree and Zagato coachwork. Or all of the above. The 1955 1900C SS Zagato Coupe earned a whopping million-dollar sale price at Gooding & Co.'s Pebble Beach auctions in August. That is almost $200,000 more than this fantasy 1929 6C SS Spider brought in...! 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Spider 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900C SS Coupe By Zagato… Best of Frankfurt – 2017 Alfa Romeo GIULIA Quadrifoglio September 17, 2015, 1 pm It is rare that press release hyperbole is actually a good barometer of a car's merit. But when Alfa says the star of the Frankfurt show will be the new GIULIA, they spoke the truth. This ultra-high-performance sedan is the halo launch model for Alfa's new BMW-fighter. With size between the M3 and M5, the Giulia Quadrifolio packs 510 horsepower and a sprint to 60-mph of just 3.8-seconds. With that ultra exclusive variant leading the range, the prices are almost as high as the performance benchmarks. Available to reserve now, the order books in Europe open in late December… Road Test Review – 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti (RWD) – By Carl Malek October 3, 2017, 10 pm Alfa Romeo has seen its fair share of ups and downs since it made its most recent effort at returning to the U.S. luxury car market. For starters, instead of choosing to start its new-found U.S. adventure with a mass market oriented model, the proudly Italian sports car maker chose to unleash two borderline supercars on the market. The first was the limited production Alfa Romeo 8C which featured a delightfully good Ferrari sourced V8, stylish bodywork, and a six figure price tag. Next was the Alfa Romeo 4C an equally stylish four cylinder two seat sports car that… Amelia Island 2017 – 1930 Alfa Romeo 1750GS Testa Fissa [27 Photo] March 13, 2017, 1 pm Here is a stunning racer that stands proud even in a line of million-dollar one-offs at Amelia Island Concours 2017. What really spoke to us about this Alfa Romeo is its artful, graceful and yet quite serious racing bodywork. The chassis is fully shrouded for aero smoothness -- right down to the louvered frame section down below, covered arrow steel for the front suspension, and teardrop tail with zero shutlines. It is basically a one-piece clamshell for most of the metal! Even the windshield is a nice flip of metalwork. Quite special in the flesh. This car raced extensively… 2017 Cadillac XT5 in NY Fashion Week Fly-By! First Photos of SRX Crossover Replacement September 10, 2015, 12 pm Cadillac has taken its high-culture ambitions to new heights! A partnership launch gala with fashion-focused Public School in New York was topped off last night by a helicopter-assisted fly-by of the 2017 XT5 SUV. Replacing the unloved by most -- but driven by General Motors CEO Mary Barra -- SRX crossover, the XT5 is sorely needed in the Cadillac range. Battling the Lexus RX350 and BMW X5, the XT5 is a critical missing addition to the next-gen Cadillac range. Despite the proliferation of mini SUVs, Cadillac has largely missed the boat. So it took a helicopter instead? Perhaps.… 4.4s 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C USA Priced from $54k in 200 New Photos September 8, 2014, 5 pm UPDATED 9.8.14 With Official USA details and 160 new photos. Who knews when one might need this many amazing photos of the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe -- but here they are! The official pricing is mid-way down the photo showcase. 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C PREVIOUS We've been pretty bearish on the Alfa 4C's prospects in the United States - until seeing one in the flesh this week at Road America. This $66,000 sports coupe is deliciously wide, low and sexy from all sides. New USA features include a refined set of bumpers to fit our… RM Monaco 2016 – 1993 Alfa Romeo RZ by Zagato April 11, 2016, 11 am The Roadster Zagato is perhaps even more unique and special than its SZ (Sprint Zagato) hardtop sibling! BERTONE: COMPANY SITUATION ANALYSIS First things first: Bertone (pronounced 'Bear Tony') is currently restructuring after some lean years in the Italian car business drained its corporate accounts to breaking point. Is this any way indicative of the quality of the firm's design work? Absolutely, positively not. In fact, it is because of Bertone's amazing ideas that the firm branched back into actual car factories versus just dreamy, steamy concept cars and prototypes. Full-scale…
