After the G-Class Crazy Colors Edition, Mercedes is pulling back a bit and going more tasteful for its latest factory-customized SUV flagships.
EVEN among this color-mad photochopper… the G63 Crazy Colors are OTT. We would need much deeper tints for the windows to venture out in Raspberry Beret Purple or Psychotic Break Green.
And it appears buyers are suddenly shy and demure too. Those deep-thinking G-Class fans apparently want to class it up a bit for 2016. Suggested names for these new colors? Casket bronze, Arabian Racing Pyrite, Rivercorpse Blue and Dirty Diaper Brown.
Upgraded options and trims outside include a half-dozen new colors, black-painted alloys in various styles, and even a full Night pack to black out most of the exterior. Mercedes will now style those hideous body-side moldings of the G-Class in carbon-fiber — but we wish they would just remove them completely and fill in the holes. A black roof is a new option for all G-wagens, while the top-dong G63 and G65 have a super-plus new cabin option.
Called DYNAMICA Designo, the fancier cabin has new microfiber wraps, a sportier steering wheel and myriad other trim tweaks.
The G-Class starts from Euro $90k in Germany, with all these new look/feel choices available to order now.
2016 G-Class Colors
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been writing an incomparable success story since 1979. “designo manufaktur” is now making the classic cross-country vehicle even more individual ex factory. Customers can now tailor the off-road icon to their personal style.
