The new SV Roadster broke cover yesterday at the Quail — with the special bodywork, cabin and mechanical upgrades even more stunning on the open variant!
The SV sports new carbon-fiber aero vanes and special venting details on all sides. As it stands even next to the new Pirelli Aventador in white for the bearded announcement, the SV is a comprehensive makeover for the design of the Aventador. The big question for an SV Roadster was how Lambo would handle the unique SV engine cover design for the targa. The results are better than ever imagined: structural and artful painted crossbeams form a pair of pointed gloss-black headrest shrouds beautifully.
With the cabin top on, the Roadster is almost a dead ringer for the coupe. But with it off, the lower visual height of the car makes the rear wing seem ever larger, and the car even lower and faster than ever.
The big upgrades are a drop in curb weight by more than 100 pounds, while power is up by 50 ponies thanks to a shoutier intake and exhaust.
The reflective black multispoke wheels are a fabulous closing touch.
As ever with Lambo SV models, this one is a crown atop the Aventador’s production run. It is a run-out special but one that may sustain the Aventador until a more thorough revamp is ready around the 2019 model-year.
We rendered an Xray tallpaper and a few in 2015’s signature hypercar green as well, just for fun. More colors when we are feeling more energized!
