Ferrari Bringing FXX-K + 488GTB and More to 2015 Goodwood FOS in New Concours Strategy

Ferrari is the most-collectible car brand of all time. Vehicles from the company’s storied past have owned the top-ten vehicle value charts for at least the last 20 years — with that dominance set to continue indefinitely.

Especially considering the brilliance of the current range!

As the dominant force in supercars, racing and exotics — Ferrari can be choosy about the events it attends officially, and the coolness of the cars they bring along to show.

Case in point? The FXX K has not been seen again in public since its debut at Yas Marina the other month. The F12 TRS is so exclusive, there are barely even any photos of it. And the new 488GTB is not set for its first deliveries until July of this year — at the very earliest.

New competition from a brand that starts with an “M” has refocused Ferrari on defending its turf in the concours arena. The “L” team is also aggressively courting concours attendees.

Goodwood is perhaps the ultimate car show, concours and dynamic demo worldwide  — so it is fantastic to see Ferrari going all in for 2015. Not just an FXX K, but more than a dozen other racecars, track specials and productions supercars will join the melee at Goodwood House this summer.

Sidebar: Long time no see?

Ferrari will have some machines at Pebble Beach 2015 after a few years staying over at the Concorso Italiano nearby. Ferrari was badly overshadowed by McLaren’s many demo spaces and oceanfront displays at PB and the Quail 2014.]  It is highly unusual for Ferrari to sit these out, we thought, because the lawns at any concours are teeming with ultra-wealthy car lovers. Many need a high-touch experience with lots of ego stroking. But the lead gen potential is a huge draw for actually, you know, selling cars.

We cannot wait!

Hopefully Jay Kay’s LaFerrari will attend as well — to feel green with envy over the only car more exotic than his!  =]jay kay laferrari

GREATEST-EVER FERRARI DISPLAY AT THE 2015 GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

FERRARI 488 GTB TO MAKE UK DEBUT, WITH CARS FROM THE CORSE CLIENTI XX PROGRAMME, INCLUDING THE NEW 1050 CV FXX-K

For immediate release

Maranello, 29 May 2015. Ferrari is proud to announce the dynamic UK debut of its latest mid-rear-engined V8 supercar, the 488 GTB, as well as the FXX-K at this year’s Festival of Speed, with both cars tackling the challenging 1.6 mile Goodwood Hill Climb along with a full supporting cast of Ferrari cars in the greatest-ever display from the Prancing Horse at the event.

FXX-K

The 488 GTB is Ferrari’s first mid-engined twin-turbo V8 since the iconic 288 GTO and F40, with 650CV and a unique engine management system that delivers torque in a controlled and sustained manner with zero turbo lag and response times equivalent to a naturally-aspirated V8 engine. The track-only FXX-K exemplifies Ferrari’s leadership in innovation and technology, with a V12 engine and hybrid system that constantly delivers 1050CV, with the “K” in its moniker a reference to the “KERS” kinetic energy recovery system it adopts in maximising its track performance.

The 488 GTB will be taking part in the Michelin Supercar Run during the Festival of Speed, alongside four other Ferrari cars: the Ferrari California T, F12berlinetta, LaFerrari and the F12 TRS. Ferrari’s Corse Clienti division, which provides cars and support services for clients racing in the Challenge or international GT series, will also be bringing the 599 XX from the laboratory XX programme. A Ferrari 458 Challenge will also participate in the Hill Climb for GT race cars.

The Scuderia Ferrari team will also be on hand to field a 2010 Ferrari F10 Formula 1 car driven by ex-F1 driver, Marc Gené.

The Prancing Horse will also well represented with an outstanding entry of private client cars from several decades of Ferrari’s racing history, with current entries as follows:
