Cool Gift Ideas – NOMO Design Auto Icon Screen Prints Show History and Evolution of Famous Car Makes

What to do for interesting and informative wall decor between the teenage years of Blue-Tac posters and the mid-life oil on canvas?

How to keep you automotive passion visible, brand loyalty powerful and left-brain active … without dusting off those old Porsche posters?

These new screen prints from Chicago-based NOMO Design are a fantastic way to relive the evolution of iconic brand styles every day.

Highlighting the major design features of BMW noses over the last 80 years? Fantastically interesting, relevant and stimulating to all car-guys and gals.

Jerome Daksiewicz is the designer behind this project, which is on Kickstarter now to grow funds for additional brands. The work to date of BMW, Porsche, Ford and General Motors is enough to definitely whet your appetite for what the Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, Jeep or Alfa posters might look like.

So far, the Auto Icons project is wildly popular. 15X the goal funding is already set for this smart and classy gift idea. Shipping as 18×24-inch serigraph prints, pop one in a frame and prepare to have a great conversation-starter and brain-teaser for all your guests for years to come.

If you like this NOMO Design aesthetic, dozens of other iconic designs are available to select from. Airport runway layouts, racetracks, golf courses — you name it, and it might come to life. In your mailbox 2-4 weeks later? A thick poster tube nicely summarizing thousands of hours of engineering in simple, elegant forms.

NOMO Design Auto Icon Screen Prints

A collection of serigraph prints illustrating history’s most iconic automobiles.

About this project

Automotive design has drastically changed throughout the decades. New manufacturing technologies make complicated forms possible. Lifestyle changes have shaped our cars. From the early stage coach models, styling exercises of the 1950’s, power of the 60’s, wedges and boxy 70’s to the modern era’s organic, sculpted  and technologically-focused autos.

About Me

I’m an architect and designer with 15 years of experience crafting space and experience through architecture, print and web design. In 2010 I started my own design studio NOMO and recently helped launch Sparse – an urban cycling accessory company. We wrapped up a successful Kickstarter campaign late 2012.

Screen printing will be handled by VGKids in Ypsillanti, Michigan. I’ve worked with them on several projects like my Airport RunwayGolf Course and Racetrack Series prints.
