2015 Dakar Rally – Peugeot 2008 DKR – 100-Photo Action Gallery

In the previous Dakar article today about the MINI Countryman All4 team, we noted how their action photos from the event took the cake for sharing the race excitement with the rest of us.

After a bit of digging, we’ve found a real treasure-trove. Photos and videos so amazing they make MINI’s effort look a little silly and amateurish. Who could deliver this?

None other than the racing powerhouse Red Bull. Videos, photos, interviews – all numbering in the hundreds. All with production values that are ready for 4K HDTV.

Most of the MINI team is powered by Monster Energy, so this is a real rivalry both in the compact crossover segment and the soda aisle worldwide.

Red Bull fielded three Peugeot 2008 DKR prototypes with Total gas-company sponsorship, outrageous designs and power, and the hope of Peugeot’s 1980s rally glories on their shoulders.

The Pugs are in second place with two days left, but all-star Carlos Sainz crashed out early in the two-week race.

The Peugeot 2008 DKR is a rear-drive, mid-engine design with an ultra-short wheelbase. We predict that next year’s truck will grow a bit longer — the better to provide stability over the surreal Chile, Argentina and Bolivia-route of the 2015 Dakar rally.

Seeing the Peugeot DKR in action is still quite special. We’re thrilled to share 100 amazing action photos from Red Bull Racing.
