1006HP Porsche 911 GT2 RS MusclePlay by WIMMER Shows Bonkers 242MPH Vmax

If the racing Wimmer GT2 RS previously shown was track-optimized with a jump in 80-horsepower, this one is simply for the bonkers power-fiend.

The twin-turbo Porsche now puts out an astounding 1006-horsepower.

The output is so immense that we actually needed to convert the metric PS 1020 measurement to US horsepower. The difference is usually negigible, but when you hit the stratosphere…. obviously what is a rounding error on the Honda becomes a difference of 16 ponies.

The indicated V-max of this MusclePlay RS is 242-mph — but it would be a brave soul who explores past 220 or so!

GT2 RS MUSCLE PLAY by WIMMER RS – 1,020 hp Porsche

A limited to 500 pcs. version of the Porsche GT2 RS with modified 3.6-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder boxer engine was presented for the first time in May 2010. Less than two months after the premiere Porsche has announced in a press release that the entire edition of at least 237,578 euro expensive strength monster was completely sold out.

WIMMER Racing Technology is well known for making the impossible possible. The professionals around Thorsten Wimmer from Solingen have nothing left out to give the definitely not underpowered supercar significantly more propulsion than “just” the series power.

With the in-house tuning for the engine, two optimized Wimmer turbochargers, an optimization of the air induction, sports camshafts and crankshaft, timing chains, machined cylinder heads, pistons and connecting rods, a fuel pump unit, two manifolds with bypass and two 200 cell sport catalysts the power unit gets sheer inexhaustible powers – in the truest sense of the word.

Undoubtedly not quite “innocent” of the fresh mixed balance of power is also the flap controlled sport exhaust system. The custom-designed 19” wheels in combination with a 3-way adjustable Competition-suspension from KW have not an easy task to get the following acceleration values to the road:

From zero to 60 mph it takes just 3.4 seconds, after 8.7 seconds the 120 mph mark is passed and the speed of 180 mph is reached within unbelievable 15.5 seconds. The V-Max is indicated with 389 km/h. Hardly surprising when you have over 1,020 hp (at 7,340 rpm) and 1,108 Nm torque (at 5,680 rpm). What a top performance!

Finally, the outer skin needs to be especially mentioned. The Cam Shaft company (Kempen) and the foil manufacturer BRUXSAFOL (Hammelburg) have conjured up this dull blue, remarkable composition of the body.
