RM Dallas Preview – 600HP V12 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe

The upcoming Sam Pack collection sale from RM Auctions in Dallas is shaping up to be a big mover and shaker in the world of American classics.

As a follow-up to the cool Lincoln concept cars article, here is perhaps the most stunning Lincoln in years: a 1939 custom Zephyr Coupe. The waterfall grille design shown here is perhaps the best-known Lincoln design theme aside from the 1961 Lincoln Continental of JFK fame.

The fact that modern Lincolns wear this aesthetic is no coincidence.

A ground-up restoration and customization sees the original engine replaced by a 6.0-liter V12 pushing 600-horsepower, This Cosworth engine is similar in size and scale to the Aston Martin V12 — surely providing power and burn-outs that no Deuce coupe could ever match.

The style of the Zephyr is greatly enhanced by Pack’s ultra-low conversion and impeccable exterior finishes. Inside, things are far more original — making this the ultimate in rest0-modded pre-war Americana.
