205HP 2014 Honda Civic Si Sedan Is FU-Cool from $23k + Visual Buyers Guide

Ever since the 2002 Subaru WRX and the Lancer Evolution arrived in the US – the Honda Civic has always taken a firm third place in the cool compact ranks.

Honda is serious about winning car guys back. The 2014 Honda Civic Si is packing a huge wing, turbo-style polished allous with gloss black accents, and a wing to make the WRX blush.

This is a car that is seriously cool. Curb appeal of the 2014 Civic Si now trumps the latest WRX and is up to WRX STI levels of aggression.

The powertrain of the Si is still optimized for Honda-style high revs versus hoon-farm torque, but little by little, the 2014 Civic Si shows how Honda is regaining its bad-ass street cred.

2014 Honda Civic Si Sedan

Si Heritage

In 1986, the “S” evolved into the Civic Si, with added interior and exterior features along with suspension upgrades and fuel injection.
The 1988 to 1991 Civic Si Hatchback captured the attention of a growing number of sport compact-car enthusiasts, just as the market was beginning to emerge in the U.S.
Beginning in 1992, Civic Si Hatchback models incorporated Honda’s famed VTEC® engine technology.
After a brief hiatus, the Civic Si reappeared in 1999 with a twin-cam VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that made 160 horsepower from 1.6 liters, a rarity in vehicles of its price range.
The 2002 Civic Si featured fresh and innovative styling with its distinctive short nose and exclusive 3-door package.
In 2006, a completely redesigned Si brought a 197-horsepower engine, plus new levels of performance, handling and styling.
2007 added four doors to the speed and performance Si package with the all-new Civic Si Sedan. The same power and attitude, just with more practical comforts.

The 2012 Si brought more muscle with a 201-horsepower engine and greater torque. It also saw a weight reduction and improved aerodynamics, making the Si leaner and meaner than before.
