Renault… has been making cars for a long time. Very unique cars!
I usually crop off the UK press release info from photos, but will leave it on for a few of these for information purposes.
The 1926 40CV Type NM de recordes is a speed racer, believe it or not. Looks like the steering wheel is about 40-inches across – helping leverage when steering the very heavy-looking nose of this machine. So cool.
The Alpine M65 is simply amazing.
This Renault 5 is definitely not being pushed by someone… despite what it looks like here….
The new Megane RS is good to see in some not-faked photo renderings. I should post the ‘Nurburgring’ photos that accompanied its release. It would be like putting my fat head on Zac Efron’s tiny body. Fake.

September 7, 2015, 10 am The Renault Megane became a cultural touchstone with its first-gen lines. All geometric choppiness plus an architectural, vogue set of curves? The body language of the car was a massive hit -- and became one of the best-selling models in recent Renault history. In its best years in the early 2000s, the Megane was often neck and neck with the VW Golf for UK sales. A dance-pop ad campaign made the most of the Megane's funky trunk lines, all set to Groove Armada's "See You Baby, Shakin' That A**." We were seriously loving the color and black alloys, contrast-red rollbars and the slammed KW stance of this Clio already. But then they go and mention the Smurfs. And we're back to feeling silly! That laughing, delightful character is a big part of any Clio's appeal. This one just happens to be a battle-Smurf! Nothing too garish or expensive, and something that will keep you entertained over the years of living in a new place? My choice would have a few priorities: -- something that cannot be bought in America -- something that fits the local roads and driving conditions well -- chic, fast and low are always my goals I would be leaning toward a few cars, one of which is the new Renault Clio RS 200. Its turbocharged engine is just a few upgrades… Gooding Pebble Beach 2014 Highlights – 1926 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Playboy Roadster August 24, 2014, 1 pm Here is a real glam-shuttle for Jay Gatsby himself. Discovery? Is that the right word for 'finding' something that many knew about before, and which has existed for the last 50 years? Hm... Nevertheless, imagine my surprise and delight upon seeing this GT40 Roadster Prototype on the RM Auctions website today. Less than a month ago we asked ourselves a hypothetical question: what if there had been a GT40 Can-Am Spyder? It is great to see that not only is there one, there were 12 made in all. This one has an all-star owner and driver list that includes none other than Carroll… 1965 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia Type 1 Concept – Amelia Concours 2019 March 12, 2019, 1 pm It was delightful to have the classic VW class this year at the Amelia Island Concours. Among the notable Vee-Dubs was this rarely-seen 1965 concept for the second-generation Karmann Ghia. Ghia styling studio assigned the project to an up-and-comer named Giorgetto Giugiaro -- and the resulting design was decades ahead of its time. From the curvi-linear surfaces to the flush-mounted lighting, this Karmann Ghia must have looked positively bizarre versus the teacup shape of the original. But there was genius in this design, albeit perhaps too futuristic to be viable. Favorite elements include the sleek roofline, targa top and… Best of SEMA 2014 – 825HP 1965 Ford Mustang HOONICORN By RTR and Autosport Dynamics November 5, 2014, 9 pm Who would argue against this beast winning a Best of Award! We, monsieur. This 2012 concept is still on the road to limited production - but Renault will go it alone versus its previous joint-venture with Caterham. It is such a small-volume project that the cars will be largely hand-assembled halo supercars anyway, so the RenaultSport team is more than capable of finalizing it solo. The design of this 2012 concept is a nicely blend of the M64 and the A110, in fact, but…
