One-Off Ford Via Concept For Sale At BaT, Has Connections To Automotive Icons

We have certainly seen our fair share of crazy things cross the block at Bring a Trailer.com (BaT) but its not too often that we seen an actual concept car cross the block. But for those that dream about owning a very unique piece of automotive history, this particular concept (and its iconic connections) might just fit the bill. In this instance, it is the Ford Via concept which was built in 1989, and displayed the following year at the 1990 Chicago Auto Show. The Via was designed by the Ghia styling house, and it had input at various points …

2017 Mercedes-Benz SL – 4.0s SL65 Leads Butterface Sisterhood

At a loss for words about this new SL.  All my eyes know is that this SL63 and SL65 are ungainly. They are ugly ducklings. Beside any taste decisions in the nose, the overall proportions are deeply flawed. This is an ugly snout of a nose, with cross-eyed headlights even more exaggerated than the current, crook-eyed beauty. Surely a view in person will improve what looks like a massive underbite, drooping maw and slightly not-all-there stare. Woof.     2017 Mercedes-Benz SL   2017 Mercedes-Benz SL The new Mercedes-Benz SL The legend – now even more dynamic Stuttgart. New appearance …

2015 Porsche Mission E – See Under Its Pajun-Previewing Panels Via 88 New Images and Animations

Updated 9.16.15 We absolutely crave this machine. Ultra low, wide and expressive — the design is absolutely breathtaking. The engineering and tech down below is arguably even more impressive, however. The flat battery pack below the entire floorplan offers a suite of challenges versus a normal monocoque, but also presents some fascinating new opportunities. And Porsche is clearly relishing the new-found freedom of not finding room for an big engine at either end, or in the middle. The compact drive system allows most of the rulebook on safety, production feasibility and passenger comfort to be torn up. Rewritten for a …

2015 Porsche Mission E 2

3.5s 2015 Porsche Mission E – 600HP Concept Is 4-Door Battery Boxster!?

A fascinating look inside the future Porsche lineup today via Frankfurt’s IAA. The just-revealed Mission E is absolutely breathtaking. Reviewing the images, my mouth was wide open in giddy shock and delight. Imagine the smooth and flowing bathtub Porsche silhouette, with curves like a 550 Spyder and stance like a super Cayman. The put in a beautifully minimal overhang at either end and four doors under an ultra low and lean roof. The look has every bit of the original Boxster concept’s star power. Running an all-new battery electric powertrain, the vehicle promises great things for future supercoupe buyers. …

DIY How-To: 20-Minute, $20 Nose Makeover Via Carbon-Fiber Wrap

Here is a fun and very easy DIY project that requires just a few tools, no complex disassembly, and minimal time or money to achieve. What is it? A DIY de-chrome of an OEM nose brightwork in favor of a carbon-fiber pattern wrap. “Carbon Fiber” and “Wrap” are both ambitious descriptions. It is neither real CF nor a full wrap. Just a bit of adhesive-backed tape in a woven pattern. We picked up ours from Autozone for about $15, but much better deals are available at Amazon etc. Almost all car parts stores carry this trim tape in their nasty …

2011 BMW 1M Coupe by OK-Chiptuning

2011 BMW 1M Coupe Adds 111HP Via OK-Chiptuning.de Re-Flash + Racing Intake, Intercooler, Downpipe and Exhaust

Upon first glance at these photos, we were fairly sure that this German rocket wore a custom widebody. But no! Just lowering springs, a new wheel/tire setup and a giant dragon of a turbo under the hood. From the stock 340HP, the OK-Chiptuning crew has liberated a full 111 more ponies for a 451 count. A gigantic torque plateau hits like a sledge hammer from just 2500 rpm— making this short-wheelbase 1M into the M1 it always dreamed of…! The N54 engine series was a fairly short run for BMW. It proved to be a bit delicate and trouble-prone …
