With the ferocity unseen by the brand in recent years, the once car focused Cadillac has rapidly revamped and expanded its lineup of utility offerings. Once territory that was occupied most successfully by the Cadillac Escalade (review pending,) the luxury brand has added the XT4 and the XT5 in its arsenal to try and allow it to expand its reach in the hotly contested CUV segment. But a void always existed between the XT5 and the Escalade, and Cadillac has addressed this by unveiling its newest XT badged offering, the 2020 Cadillac XT6. Lexus Raises Ante On LC Luxury With All New LC Convertible Concept

It’s no secret that Lexus has been wanting a large convertible since the demise of the SC convertible. The last production car to boast a standard tape cassette player brought open top luxury in a comfortable and roomy package that has been missed by some Lexus owners since it was axed. The LC coupe made a splash three years ago when it debuted at the North American International Auto Show, but its sleek and futuristic design seemed incomplete without a drop top conversion. Lexus has answered this calling by formally unveiling the LC convertible Concept ahead of its debut next …

2020 Toyota Supra Spied Camo Free And Ready For Detroit

As mentioned in our prior coverage surrounding the 2020 Toyota Supra, it has become perhaps the worst kept secret in automotive history. A figurative torrent of leaks and spy photos has unleashed various aspects of the upcoming sports car to the masses (much to Toyota’s displeasure.) But amid all of this, the Supra always managed to keep its production sheet metal away from prying eyes, until now, with a lone photo prematurely revealing the final front fascia design of the revamped, and vastly improved Toyota Supra ahead of its Detroit debut in January.   Enthusiasts that were wondering whether the …

2019 Volkswagen Jetta Brings More Technology & Style To NAIAS 2018

Volkswagen’s Golf lineup is proof of how dominant the German auto giant can be in the small car market. The Jetta on the other hand, was an example of what happened when bean counters were given free reign in designing a car. With cheaper materials, and a mediocre interior. Volkswagen’s interpretation of a compact sedan for the U.S. was lost in translation, especially with buyers. The 2019 Jetta aims to correct this with new technology and a host of updates that make it better than ever. The exterior styling of the outgoing Jetta was about as bland as buttered toast, …

Like the recent spike of crypto-currency markets, the crossover segment has exploded in popularity with many of these entries forcing automakers to drastically rethink their offerings to help achieve maximum sales. Acura’s RDX crossover has emerged to be a leading force in this segment since it was introduced back in 2012 as a 2013 model. However, this beloved model is starting to show its age, and the 2019 model aims to not only breathe new life into the RDX, but also the very brand it represents. This is most evident in its exterior styling which continues to showcase Acura’s “Precision …

Ford Brings More Power, Style, To NAIAS With 2019 Bullit Mustang [Video]

Prior to its unveiling, the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullit had to be one of the worst kept secrets of the 2018 North American International Auto Show. Rumors of its existence wafted throughout the outer reaches of the internet, and it was even spotted out on a photo shoot prior to its big debut in Detroit, but the wait was certainly worth it, with this iteration of Bullit perhaps being the most potent, and distinctively retro looking Mustang offering ever built by Ford. The exterior styling of the Bullit is largely based on the 2018 Ford Mustang with much of that …

Dubbed the Q Inspiration, the concept provides a glimpse into the Asian luxury brand’s upcoming flagship sedan, while also showcasing the brand’s new design language which will eventually trickle down to its corporate stablemates. “We aim to take traditional sedan architecture to its next stage of evolution ,” revealed Karim …

Infiniti Teases Flagship Sedan Ahead of NAIAS

Infiniti has bold ambitions for its upcoming flagship, and a new teaser image that the Japanese luxury automaker just released gives us another glimpse at its NAIAS bound concept car. The new image (like before) doesn’t reveal much, but it does appear to hint that curvier styling is on the menu, with a narrower headlight design, as well as a crevice along the hood that flows into the fender. The front grille also has aggressive undertones, and has a sawtooth-esque design. This new flowing theme will be a radical departure from the angular motif that has defined Infiniti models for …

Volkswagen Teases 2019 Jetta Ahead of NAIAS

When we last met the Volkswagen Jetta, it was a sedan in desperate need of newfound vigor and passion. The current generation was Volkswagen’s attempt to better compete with U.S. and Japanese entries, but its bland styling and downgraded interior materials caused it to get a lukewarm reception from customers, especially in North America. With the sedan segment as a whole still reeling from strong CUV sales, the 2019 Jetta aims to regain its lost luster, while also doubling down on its quest to redefine the four door sedan segment at the same time. The teaser sketches Volkswagen released don’t …

2018 Lexus LS500 Debuts All-New Flagship with 4.5s Turbo 10-Speed and Standard LWB

The new Lexus LS just debuted in Detroit with some shocking advancements in style, luxury and performance. First things first: the powertrain of the creamy cruiser is now a 3.5-liter twin-turb oV6 making 415 horsepower.  Through the standard 10-speed automatic, the new LS promises a brisk flash t o60-mph in just 4.5-seconds. The machine is longer than before: its 123-inch wheelbase is up 1.3-inches versus even the LWB LS460L/LS600hL from the existing generation.  A lower rear roofline but much more enveloping rear seating keeps legroom limo-huge. The design itself is also a big leap into the future.  With a nose …

NAIAS 2016 – Showfloor MEGA Gallery – Day One in 180 Photos

Uh oh!  Detroit’s NAIAS is so intense for 2016, we are well past our peak of effective coverage.  What comes next?  Deep hand and forearm soreness from so much typing.  And… alas… into just outright bitchiness about some of the more questionable model reveals.  Cough… Acura, cough-cough… But we will power through!   Resist the snark! Update1 – 2016 Acura Precision Concept – Design Reboot Ruined By Another Fugly Nose

Updated with real-life photos. Good to see more angles of the Acura Precision Concept, a car whose design is really expressive and deep in real-life photos versus the initial renders.  The beak is still rough, but there is promise here. Acura is still having trouble rebuilding its sales since a brief peak in the early 2000s with the TL and MDX. More recently, the sales velocity for the brand is in terminal decline. A big part of the problem has been the dogged persistence with the ‘shield’ grille since at least 2007.  This is a look that no one really likes, …

2015 Z06 – Official Debut in 40 Super High Resolution Images + Tech Specs: 8-sp Manual or Optional Auto

Holy NAIAS, Batman – look at the production 2015 Corvette Z06! Last week, we highlighted a number of details from the Gran Turismo 6 Corvette concept that seemed to show the way forward for the Z06.       The best part for me was that the GT6 concept sat in the PlayStation section of CES, with barely a second glance given to it by passers-by. The GT6 concept now appears to have been a “work in progress” — because the real-life Z06 is far more hardcore in almost every way. One fantasy element has made it to the Z06 …
