ItalDesign GIUGIARO Parcour – DIY Design Contest Entry Materials + 100 Renderings

ItalDesign is taking new looks for its Parcour super-truck this month — with the winner scoring VIP passes to a giant gala in Valentino Park. The examples they’ve provided are pretty cool, but will take work to revamp stylishly.  A plan view from all sides, plus six PDFs of letters.  These outline what GIUGIARO does best. The DIY Design Contest goal is a new Livery, not just color and look.  So that likely includes some kind of wrap or graphics. But we’ve stuck to more of a colorblock type of fashion for most of the 110 renderings below.  Custom wheel …

Not just Rangies… but S-Classes and Audi A8’s too! The superlux livery market just found a new favorite: the XC90 T8 Excellence. Plugin-hybrid to ease your (guilty) conscience?  Check. SUV-easy entry and exit, plus jumbo cargo bay?  Check. Individual, 787-first-class seats in back with a full-length console and nap-ready headrests? Check. 4×4 grip for ski holidays or slushy commutes home?  Check. Subtle to the point of almost disappearing behind the bright window-edges and deep-tinted glass all around?  Check. The new XC90 Excellence certainly looks great on paper as the next favorite limousine for the Davos crowd. The Excellence order …

2016 BMW M3 - M Livery 4

2016 BMW M3 – M Livery Photos from Daytona Speedway BMW Performance Driving School

BMW is on our shitlist lately, so these photos are fairly raw and uninteresting.  But hey, sitting on a pack of   high-res photos of the 2016 M3 in tricolor M livery is impossible for any real car nut! These cars are pure street cars, despite their gorgeous M Performance Parts upgrading the kidneys to gloss black and the spoilers to exposed-weave carbon fiber. The M livery is a godsend.  Why?  Because the car’s standard colors suck. 2016 BMW M3 Motorsport Livery

1964 SHELBY COBRA DAYTONA 78

1964 SHELBY COBRA DAYTONA 24H Coupe – Reborn from 1965 Bonneville World Speed Record-Holder

Few better ways to kick off the 2016 Daytona 24-Hour race this weekend than to meet one of the all-time greats! The Shelby Cobra Coupe had no official name when it took the grid for this grueling 1964 race — then the fastest in the world.  But being designed and prepped for this track earned the Daytona Coupe its forever name the moment it started leading the race. This car is *exactly* like the Shelby that took the green flag around Daytona, but bowed out after an engine fire. That Daytona Coupe no longer wears the medium blue metallic over …

No word on US availability of this machine, but pricing around $110k will be a snip versus the half-mil for the privateer racecar. Gooding Amelia 2015 - 1951 Lotus Mk IIIB Was First-Ever Customer Lotus 7

Gooding Amelia 2015 – 1951 Lotus Mk IIIB Was First-Ever Customer Lotus

The first car Lotus ever sold, and the first car to wear the revered yellow crest of the brand?! Yessir! Colin Chapman’s stylized initials formed the basis of the emblem, but it was the most designed piece of the machine. The rest of the car is ruthlessly functional — with giant bulges in the hood exploding from the metal like some giant hematomas. Along with the twin lamps forming nostrils at the tip of the narrow hood, the ONK license plate is more than a little tongue-in-cheeck. Oink, oink… like a pig…. But this car sung at auction. The sale …

The new 2015 Z4 GTLM CSL wears an official Homage Livery for this year, 40 years since the first BMW USA Motorsport victory. TO celebrate this anniversary, the new Z4 GTLM CSL matches its forebear’s BMW Motorsport colors that have come to define the brand. This incredibly intense Z4 widebody fired up with the deep rumble of sheer power, with its rear slicks and massive downforce package the added proof. Relative to this giant-killing Z4, …

2016 McLaren P1 GTR Meets 1997 McLaren F1 GT LongTail In Geneva

Updated 3.3.15 Seeing the 1997 F1 GT LongTail at the Geneva show really drives home how different it is than the original road car. A dramatically-flared rear fender and lower aero upgrade beside the doors is a big part of the upgrade, along with a giant front splitter and pointy rear end. 1997 McLaren F1 GT LongTail The 2016 McLaren P1 GTR is now in full racing mode. Scary-fast and ready to blast out of the pits at the Circuit de Catalunya later this year with the elite crop of owner-drivers who will join the ultimate racing experience. The P1 GTR is significantly stripped and optimized for track duties versus its P1 road-going hypercar base-point, which was no shrinking violet itself when it comes to extreme performance.
