2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia TI Sport AWD – Review By Ben Lewis

Have you ever been at a get-together, and it’s ok, but kinda snoozy? You know just about everyone; the talk is the same stuff it always is. Then someone new shows up that’s fun, different and interesting, and all of a sudden, you’re glad you were there. Meet the Alfa Romeo Giulia – the life of the party. You may know Alfa Romeo. The last time the brand sold a vehicle here was in 1995. But this is a famous brand with an amazing heritage. Alfa was the first car to win the World Automobile Championship in 1925, and followed with a win in the first F1 championship. Heck Enzo Ferrari started as a race driver for the brand in 1921. Even more so, Alfa is bona fide in making awesome road cars. Even though their presence was small here in the US, we did have Dustin Hoffman tooling around …

Road Test Review – 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti (RWD) – By Carl Malek

Alfa Romeo has seen its fair share of ups and downs since it made its most recent effort at returning to the U.S. luxury car market. For starters, instead of choosing to start its new-found U.S. adventure with a mass market oriented model, the proudly Italian sports car maker chose to unleash two borderline supercars on the market. The first was the limited production Alfa Romeo 8C which featured a delightfully good Ferrari sourced V8, stylish bodywork, and a six figure price tag. Next was the Alfa Romeo 4C an equally stylish four cylinder two seat sports car that helped Alfa Romeo charge its way back into the headlines, but offered low levels of practicality and limited four season capability. However, at long last Alfa Romeo has finally assembled a duo of models aimed at the mass market the stylish Giulia sedan, and the recently unleashed Stelvio CUV. But can …

ALFA-ROMEO Wine & Cheese at Folktale Winery – Monterey Car Week 2017

Does Pebble Beach feel like eons ago?  Less than a week since $300-million in cars were sold at auction.  And about the same value of collectibles driving all around town. Alfa Romeo had a strong presence at 2017 Monterey Car Week.  Always a favorite on the lawn on Sunday, the brand is now heavily promoting their new Stelvio SUV and Giulia sport sedan. Both have pricing from about $50k and look a million times more special than their BMW rivals. Here are a few dozen of our favorite Alfa Romeos from Pebble Beach and beyond.  Special access to a Stelvio clay model in the barrel room of Folktale Winery is a special treat!   Alfa brought the very rare and very special TZ2 out for some time in the sun beside the 4C Spider. Thanks to James Crabtree for the photos. ALFA-ROMEO – Monterey Car Week 2017 You May Also …

Amelia Island 2017 – 1930 Alfa Romeo 1750GS Testa Fissa [27 Photo]

Here is a stunning racer that stands proud even in a line of million-dollar one-offs at Amelia Island Concours 2017. What really spoke to us about this Alfa Romeo is its artful, graceful and yet quite serious racing bodywork.  The chassis is fully shrouded for aero smoothness — right down to the louvered frame section down below, covered arrow steel for the front suspension, and teardrop tail with zero shutlines.  It is basically a one-piece clamshell for most of the metal!  Even the windshield is a nice flip of metalwork. Quite special in the flesh.  This car raced extensively in the UK in its original bodywork and set records with a 95-mph average over the Brooklands 12 hour race. Favorite details?  The temp gauge atop the radiator is visible from the cabin.  The straight radiator also houses the Alfa Romeo script behind its smooth oval intake.  And finally, the rear …

2018 Alfa Romeo STELVIO – 70 Dynamic Pics On Namesake Road

Feeling like every day there is a brand-new SUV from a luxury brand? You’re right.  Bentayga and Levante join F-Pace and even a Maybach G-Class for 2017. The class of 2018 includes this stunner: the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The big press launch just took place in Europe and offers a great look at the truck in the wild. Certainly a wild look! Ultra rounded fenders, nose and hood lead to a very-low and bubbly hardtop shape.  Big wheels and fenders enforce the machine’s performance credentials — if the giant Alfa V grille didn’t do it! The top model matches the Giulia with Quadrifoglio clover badges and a V6TT that lunges forward relentlessly on command.   2018 Alfa Romeo STELVIO ALFA ROMEO UNVEILS STELVIO FOR FIRST TIME IN EUROPE Alfa Romeo launches the all-new Stelvio; the marque’s first SUV in more than a century Alfa Romeo has revealed three new Stelvio …

505HP, 3.9s 2018 Alfa Romeo STELVIO – High-Performance SUV Wows LA, World

Very big day today out in elle-lay! The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the latest big debut for the left coast — and it is a doosey! Meet the new 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio: the range-topping, 505-horsepower SUV that delivers some seriously stonking numbers right out of the gate.  It is named after the knotted Stelvio Pass mountain road made so famous from Top Gear.  And that means Alfa are more than confident about how well this machine can corner! The Stelvio will rival the Maserati Levante, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe up and down the range.  Starting at the top is never a bad strategy for a launch though! Most Stelvio’s will run more humble powertrains and prices than the top Cloverleaf model.     2018 Alfa Romeo STELVIO   Born From the World’s Greatest Driving Road – Stelvio Pass – the All-new 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Sets a New …

2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider – Road Test Review – By Carl Malek

With the dust still settling on our review of the 2017 McLaren 570GT, it brings up a compelling question in our minds, is there such a thing as an “affordable” exotic car? The 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider aims to be one of these cars, while also serving as the face of Alfa Romeo’s anticipated and often times delayed resurrection in the U.S. market. The 4C certainly has the bold styling, and Italian inspired flair that one expects out of an Alfa Romeo badged offering, but can it really succeed as an affordable alternative to the pricier established exotic car benchmarks?     The exterior styling of our Giallo Prototipio (AKA yellow) tester is a textbook mixture of retro sports car cues as well as the modern flowing lines that have come to define recent Alfa Romeo models. The overall look borders on visual overload and really pops with certain …

Hall of Fame – 2010 Alfa Romeo Pandion by BERTONE

2010 BERTONE Pandion for Alfa-Romeo Is Next-Level Brilliance Inside and Out 30

We obviously cover a lot of concepts and dream cars here, but rarely does one captivate the eye and mind more than the 2010 Bertone Pandion. BERTONE: COMPANY SITUATION ANALYSIS First things first: Bertone (pronounced ‘Bear Tony’) is currently restructuring after some lean years in the Italian car business drained its corporate accounts to breaking point. Is this any way indicative of the quality of the firm’s design work? Absolutely, positively not. In fact, it is because of Bertone’s amazing ideas that the firm branched back into actual car factories versus just dreamy, steamy concept cars and prototypes. Full-scale production and running numerous factories came about because car-makers loved Bertone ideas so much. OEM firms would simply say, “Yes. We must have it. Can you build it for us?” Anyone involved with the prototypes would jump at the chance to make their dream cars in volume. But this is a …
